Another Weekend come and gone...
Friday after I left work, I went right home and relaxed for a few minutes before the kids and Tyler got home. Tyler made us some nice Filet Mignons in the cast Iron pans, and I made some loaded baked potatoes, caramelized onions, mushrooms and some asparagus wrapped in fresh from the butcher genoa salami. YUM.
Afterwards, we relaxed a bit and put the kids to bed. Ty played in Cornwall for two hours, so he left around 8:30 or something and was home around 2:45. I only woke up long enough to see he was home and went back to sleep. I got hardly any sleep that night, so I was trying to take in what little sleep we were both going to get.
Saturday morning the kids slept until 6:30, so I took them downstairs and fed them breakfast and we played while Tyler slept until 9. Once he was up, we loaded everyone into the car and headed to the rink for Garett's CanSkate. It was a little chilly in the arena that day, so Tyler took Keira for a ride to Tim Hortons to get hot chocolates, but then she fell asleep, so he waited in the car while I waited for G to be done. He is doing SO well. They bumped him up a group level, and he is still leading the way on all of the obstacles. He learned how to "stop", they did some "hops" over little discs to practice in case you hop over pucks, turns and learned how to skate backwards. He kept jetting off over to this little girl from school who is in another group. Poor guy is love sick haha
After we left there, we headed to Broadways for a late brunch and headed home. Keira only had a short little nap, so I took Garett alone to the library to return his other books and get out a bunch more, then we went to the mall to pick out a shirt for his black and orange day at school and we hit up the Monster Halloween store and bought some good green and black makeup for his Frankenstein costume (now I pray that since it was so expensive, it comes off easily and doesn't stain his face green and black! lol). We picked up some food and went home to eat as a family. We made a little cozy fort on the floor and watched Sound of Music. G was pretty taken with it, since daddy used to watch it too.
We were in bed pretty early, and Ty and I binge watched a ton of Life in Pieces.
Sunday we were up bright and early, as in both kids were up prior to 6:30. But that's fine. We made a big breakfast, and hung out around the house. Garett went and played in the backyard in his rain gear for a while. When it got windy, I called him inside. Once the rain let up a bit, I went and did a big load of groceries. Once they were unloaded, keira was napping and Garett was playing drums in the basement, so I caught up on some of my shows and swept the main floor.
Tyler had a quick practice with another band he is filling in for one gig for. So he was gone from 5-7:30, so after we all ate, I put the kids in the bath, and put them to bed. They were pooped. Lazy days make me tired too!
When Tyler got home, we made up a big snack plate of veggies and dips and breads and cheese and laid in bed and watched more Life in Pieces. We were asleep by 9:30.
Back to reality today. I spent my morning in a training session at work for some new financial program, and am wishing the next couple of hours by. It is SO cold in here today.
Tonight I am heading out to Cacao 70 with my old work friends and stuffing myself full of all the things. If you have never heard of this place, google the menu, and picture me collapsed in a sugar coma later on this evening. :)
Not too much on the agenda for the rest of the week, thankfully!
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! :)
