Weekend Recap
Last week went by at a snails pace. I was off on Friday, and so was Tyler, so we took advantage of the day by cleaning a bit, putting away endless laundry, taking naps and baths and did some shopping. I also placed Garett's school picture order--I am excited to see them once they come in! :)
I had some pictures developed on Thursday for the Remembrance Day slideshow, and sent them to school on Friday with Garett. I got ready for the evening, and while Tyler did some work in the basement, I went and picked up both kids, and Tyler cooked a quick dinner for them and the babysitters.
We headed out around 5:15 for the EY center. We had tickets to VIP unlimited tasting alley and carnivore package at the Wine and Food festival. The VIP tasting alley was a separate room, where there were canapés and unlimited wine for two hours. It was a lot. We left that area after maybe an hour and a half and walked around the tasting floor in the main event. We won a tshirt and a beer glass, and ran into Garett's old babysitter, and then headed to the Carnivore tasting. This was an hour of unlimited meat from Seed to Sausage. Chorizo on French bread, some Jalapeno and cheese sausages, Pastrami, Capicolla, etc etc etc. we snacked on it all. We left the event after that , and popped into the Barley Mow in Orleans where some guy Tyler knows was playing a solo gig. We had one drink there, and headed up the road to another place to see if anyone we knew was there. We left there after another drink and headed home. We were in bed by 11:30.
We all woke around 6:45 on Saturday, made the kids a big breakfast, and played for a while. I took Garett to Canskate, and we headed home to relax a bit and played in the yard while a few flurries fell. We didn't do much the rest of the day.
Sunday morning was the time change in effect, and by some miracle of God, my kids slept until 7:30 (new time), so they stayed on a normal schedule the rest of the day, and it didn't affect them. PHEW. I picked up Shannon around 9:40 to go on a Costco run. We each had a few things we wanted to grab, and didn't stray too far off! We did well! There was some good sales on, and it was nice to get out of the house--even though Costco was a NUTHOUSE lol. After I dropped her off, I went home and we had some lunch and Keira had a three hour nap. So we cuddled on the carpet in the basement and made a fort and watched a movie/had snacks.
When keira finally woke up, she ate a bit and we got dressed and headed to the mall. We walked around, the kids went on some rides (keira wasn't a fan of the ones that go up and down), bought a bucket of Kernels popcorn for Ty and G, and SIX bottles of the aromatherapy bath foam since they were "buy 3 , get 3 free" (usually $16 a piece). I couldn't find any hand soaps I liked (I hate the Christmas scents), so we headed home. I made some tortellini, garlic bread and salad for dinner, the kids ate like pigs and then we did baths, read some stories, and it was off to bed soon after. They made it until 7:15 before they were just pooped right out after a long day.
Tyler and I stayed up a bit later, had our showers, watched some Life in Pieces (season 2 is on Netflix now), and ate some cake. We passed out around 10:00 and that wrapped up a nice weekend!
This week is pretty short and action packed--I will hand in Garett's Little Caesar's orders, and I will be attending his Remembrance day Ceremony on Friday, since our friend will be in attendance. Saturday there is no Canskate, we have a "free" day to maybe check out some Remembrance day events, and Sunday I have to make playdough for school. I am off next Monday (we get that as a Stat instead of family day) , so looking forward to a 4-day-weekend ahead.
