weekend recap!

Happy Tuesday morning!

It was such a nice weekend. I could get used to this quiet time in!


Friday evening, we didn't do much! Tyler grabbed the kids, and I made some homemade chicken fingers, and French fries and made some corn on the cob with it for the kids (I cannot wait for sweet sweet sweet fresh corn). For us, we made a bbq chicken and spinach pizza (yum). We finished catching up on the episodes we haven't seen yet from this season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine and then Tyler ran out to grab some snacks, so we could watch a movie (we didn't end up watching a movie). It was baths, and early to bed all around instead! lol


Saturday we were up around 7, Tyler made a big breakfast for us all. While he was cooking, the kids and I played with playdough and did some painting. After we finished up breakfast and cleaned up, we all went down to the basement, and I organized the rest of my barbies I washed (brushed their hair/dressed them), and Keira played endlessly with them. Tyler and I started "death cleaning" the basement, and were about 15 boxes lighter by the end of it!! 


The kids had some snacks, and watched some Donald Duck, and then around 12:30, Keira headed upstairs for a big nap.


Tyler and Garett went ahead to his aunt Joanne's (we were doing his family's easter dinner), and threw the lasagna we brought in the oven over there. Like five minutes after they left, Keira woke up, so I got her ready and we headed over for about 3:30. We were there until 7:40-ish. We ate and then the guitar came out and we sang happy birthday to the three birthdays there, and then Keira danced. and danced.and danced.  I left around 7:40 with Keira (put her in her PJ's before we left, even though she did NOT fall asleep in the car--she is NOT a car sleeper lol). Ty and Garett left around 8.











Garett was so excited when he came home because Guy (Joanne's boyfriend) gave him a really nice fidget spinner that came in a tin and everything, lol. Last time he went over, they gave him a bunch of board games, so he's thinking he's a pretty lucky boy haha


He went right to bed, and we watched two episodes of Parenthood, and pigged out on leftovers before we turned in for the night also. The wind howled all night, and the storm held out another day!


Sunday when we got up, the freezing rain drizzle had started, but wasn't too bad yet. I cooked up some scrambled eggs and made a fruit salad of cantaloupe/honeydew and grapes for breakfast. We cleaned out more boxes in the basement, and we put on the Incredibles for the kids while they ate broccoli/hummus and PB and toast as a snack lol!


I took Keira up and put her down for her nap at 12:30, and the boys headed out to put our Museums Membership to good use. This time, they went to explore the Aviation museum. Ty snapped some really cute photos :) While they were out, I put away a bunch of laundry, and watched the ice accumulate on the windows on the back of the house. I cleaned out the fridge also.
















When they got home, Keira was just waking up, so we cleaned a bit more and did more laundry, and made some dinner, and did baths and bedtime!


When I woke up yesterday morning, and couldn't see out the window, I checked the news and the busses were cancelled, so I took the opportunity to stay home with the kids. Keira was acting all stir crazy though, so later , after breakfast, Tyler took her to daycare for a bit, and then ran out to run some errands.


Garett and I did a bunch of stuff-obstacle courses, went through all of his toys and got rid of the babyish stuff he doesn't like anymore, we thoroughly cleaned keira's room and reorganized her closet. We made some fake snow (some science thing I had bought and forgotten about). We did a lot of relaxing, and snacking. He sat with Tyler and also sketched his own waterfall design (it actually is really good lol), and stayed with me while Tyler ran to grab keira.


We made some dinner, and played before it got too late.

I made lunches, and laid out clothes for this morning, and we watched two more episodes of Parenthood and went to sleep also.


This morning, Tyler went out to work, so I fed the kids, got them ready and loaded into the car, and dropped them off at their places before coming into work. I still made it within 5 mins of 8:00, which is amazing lol.
