Weekend Recap!

Image
Last week at work was extremely rough. Things are really gearing up and are so busy right before Christmas; plus planning Christmas stuff on top of my work, it's a lot! But when I can actually make a change in someone's life, I like to! I reached out to the local Boys and Girls Club here in Vanier last week, and picked up a bunch of Angels for the angel tree. I originally asked for 15, then 10 more, then 5 more. Here's what I have left out of the 30 :) I also accepted a bunch of monetary donations to go towards their contingency also. Feels good! Thursday night, Garett had Beavers, and since Tyler was going to be working overnight, I left him home with Keira to put her to bed and I took Garett into Beavers before the snow started. We got home around 7:45 and went straight to bed. Snow started shortly afterwards! We woke up to a winter wonderland, and it was STILL snowing. I brought the kids into school (PD day program for Garett, with a Garlic King Shawarma lunch,...

Super long-weekend recap

Thursday evening, Garett didn't attend Beavers, since it was at the War Museum. He's been there many times, and it's so far away, so we just opted out. Since they are going to a Sens game this weekend, we didn't think he was missing much lol Thankfully they stayed home because Keira took a spill off a bike in the driveway before I got home, and hit her head. She was very upset all night, and I was terrified she was concussed. She wasn't, but she was visibly shaken by the event. We went in to stir her every hour or so all night long, so I stayed home on Friday to get some rest. That evening, I made some steak and potato herbed foil pouches and some salad. It was good! Friday, Keira seemed back to normal, but she went for an appointment just to make sure! Our friend/neighbour was in Belgium for work for the week, and her husband had to coach some basketball, so I watched their daughter for a few hours until he came home. The kids had some snacks and watched some t...

Kids Christmas Lists

Thanks to youtube, Garett has THE most expensive taste for a child I have ever seen. He went through the Chapters Indigo toy book, and nothing he circled was less than $80. So I improvised a little and threw in a couple of his big ticket items he wants, and a few smaller ticket items that I know he will love also. Here are the bigger things he asked for that he is NOT getting: Kano Computer Kit: He isn't getting this because he has his own ipad, and there is no point in having this also. Cosmo Robot: He talked about this Robot for quite some time, but I think $250 is a little much for a toy he will likely not know how to use and get annoyed and put it away in a closet. Also Chapters was the only place I could find it, and they typically hike toy prices like CRAZY. He also asked for a skateboard, which he is not getting because I know he thinks he can do a bunch of tricks, but he cannot in reality do them and will definitely break an arm or something--maybe next year :) Her...

Another Weekend Come and Gone

Image
Another weekend in the books, and it was another action packed time. Halloween was a rushed night on a Wednesday--I whole heartedly agree with the new proposed timing for Halloween, so it never falls on a weeknight again! The kids were already so tired at the end of the day. Traffic was BRUTAL on the way to Orleans, but I met Tyler and the kids at my mother in laws. They had some pizza, and everyone else arrived. We went out around 6:00 I'd say. Garett stayed behind to hand out candies, and Keira did like five houses before we called it quits. She also was more into the decorations than the trick or treating haha. Tyler took her back to the house, but I stayed out for a while with the others before we finished up the street. We were home by around 8 PM and the kids went right to bed! Thursday was another rushed night with Beavers for Garett. Friday evening was relaxed at least! We just hung out watching movies and munching on popcorn. I think that's all we did-I can...
