Weekending

Well folks, we are in the single digit countdown until Christmas!! I will put out the elf on a shelf x2 tonight-I have gotten away with not having them out long enough. Questions are rolling in from Garett since other friends at school report back on what their elves are up to lol. It was a very quiet weekend in our neck of the woods. Friday: -It was plaid day for the kids, so we sent in our advent donations and both kids wore plaid. -The schools Christmas project is new pjs/socks/slippers to donate. So we went and bought a bunch of PJ's and threw them into the hampers. I like to instill the joy of giving whenever we can! -The house cleaner did her thing, and the house REALLY needed it this week with us all having had a cold. -We were going to order in dinner, but we were too hungry to wait an hour for it to be delivered. We made hot chicken sandwiches with the leftover Swiss Chalet chicken from Thursday night, and warmed up leftover vegetable/alfredo lasagna and sauté...

Look Ahead

This week has been a lazy hectic. As in there is always something on the go, and we always seem to be busy, but I also feel we are sitting around a lot (probably because I am getting over a cold and don't want to get more sick!). Yesterday I was working from home, but logged off early to head to Garett's school. Him and I were decorating a little individual gingerbread house, and another little boy didn't have a parent there, so I helped him also. I checked Garett out early, and we went to Walmart to get some Christmas wrap stuff, and to get gas. We went back to the school to get Keira and then popped over to our old daycare providers house to wish her a Happy Birthday (gave her some magnets of the kids school pictures and some framed pictures), and a Merry Christmas (gave her a google home) and we were on our way home. I made a vegetable lasagna with alfredo sauce for dinner and wrapped all of the teacher/ECE gifts. Today we brought all the school people gifts i...

Weekend Recap

Image
It was another busy weekend at our place. On Thursday, I worked from home but around 11:30, I headed into town and met up with one of my teams for some drinks and pool at Dooly's. It was a great time. I stayed until about 4:15 and headed home to cook some dinner (I made garlic and cream cheese riced cauliflower, a honey balsamic pork tenderloin and lemon pepper onions and peppers. mmm). Friday I was at work, and left around 3:00 to drive myself and a coworker downtown for our other team party. We were pretty early, so we stopped in at T's (not knowing it was a gay bar), and had a beer there. Then we went on over to where dinner was :Prohibition Public House. We had a private room in there (pictured below). For dinner we picked in advance. I had beef carpaccio to start, a garden salad with a vinaigrette dressing, maple chipotle fried chicken with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies, and a mocha crème brulee (We just picked our mains in advance and the rest were part...

Christmas Bucket List

Christmas is always a time of year where I just kind of "survive". Things are busy, there's lots to do, lots to catch up on and lots of things to remember. Here are the things I want to do before Christmas: -Spend an entire evening alone in the garage (or basement), with the heater (or fireplace) on, a movie on the big screen, with a drink in hand, wrapping gifts! -Remember all of the "special days" at Garett's school for the charity campaign (wear Christmas gear, ugly sweater day, plaid & flannel day, etc). -Go to the school on December 12 to help decorate gingerbread houses and get happy meals for dinner on the way home. -Attend a porch sign painting party on Saturday -Attend a neighbours Christmas party for a while where Tyler and I can wear our ugly Christmas gear -Find some time to get Santa pictures done with the kids (somewhere different this year I think because I am SICK of waiting in line at Place D'Orleans). -Introduce...

Boys Christmas List Ideas

This year, here is what Garett put on his Santa list. It's a pretty solid "boy toy" list: Keira didn't really make a "list" this year, but sent her letter in asking for a few things :) Next year will be MUCH different on that front, I'm sure lol. What are your kids asking for?
