Weekending
Well folks, we are in the single digit countdown until Christmas!! I will put out the elf on a shelf x2 tonight-I have gotten away with not having them out long enough. Questions are rolling in from Garett since other friends at school report back on what their elves are up to lol.
It was a very quiet weekend in our neck of the woods.
Friday:
-It was plaid day for the kids, so we sent in our advent donations and both kids wore plaid.
-The schools Christmas project is new pjs/socks/slippers to donate. So we went and bought a bunch of PJ's and threw them into the hampers. I like to instill the joy of giving whenever we can!
-The house cleaner did her thing, and the house REALLY needed it this week with us all having had a cold.
-We were going to order in dinner, but we were too hungry to wait an hour for it to be delivered. We made hot chicken sandwiches with the leftover Swiss Chalet chicken from Thursday night, and warmed up leftover vegetable/alfredo lasagna and sautéed some veggies and had a smorgasbord dinner ;the kids favourite thing for some reason lol..when we do this I always feel so disorganized.
-Rod came over once the kids were in bed (and then our neighbour Bill and Blair also). The boys had a cigar and a scotch in the garage-I went right to bed.
Saturday:
-Tyler had a gig in the evening and was out for some of the day to do load in/sound check and came home in between.
-Put the kids to bed, had a glass of wine and decided to get a sitter to come over and I went across the street for our neighbours Christmas Party (I wore my "Go Jesus it's your Birthday" sweater). I finished off a bottle of wine and our direct neighbours and I won the raffle (15 bottles of wine). So I sent them all home with her to save them for the next Bearbrook ladies night!
-Tyler and I were only asleep by 2:00 or so. I knew it was going to be a long day on Sunday.
Sunday:
-The kids were up at 6:05. I don't understand how on weekdays they will literally sleep until 9AM if I let them, but on weekends they are up before the sun! lol
-I just put on a movie, made some eggs and fried bologna to feed the kids and I slept for another 30 minutes on the couch while they coloured.
-Once Keira was down for her nap, Garett and I loaded up the car and headed to Walmart for some last minute things we needed and I grabbed more gift cards.
-I wrapped one last work persons present (the business sent me the wrong print of something,so I had to wait for the replacement).
-I wrapped the Christmas Eve gifts for the kids and put them in a bag to bring to work.
-I boxed up and loaded all of the Boys and Girls club gifts that were in my front hall and put them into my trunk (I delivered everything this freezing Monday morning).
- Did a bunch of laundry
-Tried my new exfoliating body polish by Dove. I love the smell, but I didn't love the product :(
-Tried my new coffee/coconut St.Ives facial exfoliator. It was so-so. Unlike the Dove one, I found this one had too many exfoliating beads in it and hurt my face lol
Monday:
-Tyler took the kids to school this morning, I was running so late!
-I ordered new knobs for the cupboards above our washer/dryer and am going to paint the cabinets white. Tyler decided we didn't need to do more than that right now.
-I ordered my 11x17 prints of black and white photos from Blacks.
-Once those things arrive, we can get the front hall started :) I currently HATE the burnt orange and how everything is always so messy and dirty looking there because of the dark colour. I can't wait to lighten it up and it to be my style.
-Today is our Directorate Christmas lunch up the road. I opted out because I dislike the place they are going, and I would rather hang out in a very quiet office for the afternoon :)
