Weekend Recap

It was another busy weekend at our place.
On Thursday, I worked from home but around 11:30, I headed into town and met up with one of my teams for some drinks and pool at Dooly's. It was a great time. I stayed until about 4:15 and headed home to cook some dinner (I made garlic and cream cheese riced cauliflower, a honey balsamic pork tenderloin and lemon pepper onions and peppers. mmm).


Friday I was at work, and left around 3:00 to drive myself and a coworker downtown for our other team party. We were pretty early, so we stopped in at T's (not knowing it was a gay bar), and had a beer there. Then we went on over to where dinner was :Prohibition Public House. We had a private room in there (pictured below). For dinner we picked in advance. I had beef carpaccio to start, a garden salad with a vinaigrette dressing, maple chipotle fried chicken with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies, and a mocha crème brulee (We just picked our mains in advance and the rest were part of the price). I had another drink and visited for quite a while and headed home. I got home  at 7:15 to relieve our sitter since he had hockey practice at 8:00. I stayed in and relaxed with the kids, and Ty was off at a gig.


Saturday, the kids and I baked a bunch of cupcakes and icing and decorated them. Tyler had another gig, so he was off pretty early. I walked around the neighbourhood at 6:45PM to grab all the ladies and we headed to another neighbours house for our second monthly Bearbrook ladies night. Each month, we take turns hosting all of the wives that live in our amazing neighbourhood. So I brought cupcakes and a few bottles of wine to share. We did this fantastic sign painting thing, and had so much charcuterie.





The last picture is missing two of the ladies/signs, but it was so much fun! I wasn't home until 1:30 AM (I waited for Tyler to bring me home because I had the sign and a poinsettia and my cooler to carry)..one of the other ladies had brought over a poinsettia for each of us (cutest thing ever).

Sunday we spent the day with the kids relaxing. I started a cold, so I wasn't feeling great. When Keira went for a nap, I did also and we both slept until almost 5:00. Tyler had gone to his moms  house with Garett, and we stayed behind and had an easy dinner and waited for them to get home.

Life Lately

-Hosting Bearbrook Ladies night two weekends ago was wonderful! I put out a full charcuterie spread, made a mint/cranberry/grapefruit drink to share, and all of us received a tarot card reading, palm read and a facial read. Pretty much the reoccurring consensus between all three reads (it was two different people doing it) was that my heart and mind live in a state of conflict, but that it works for me to live in a state of balance. -Garett went on his first friend play date ever , and he had so much fun. It was his two best friends that left daycare to start school last year. -happy that while Garett was at his play date, Tyler was home with Keira and I went out for a bit alone, then came home and we finished The Belko Experiment movie before I went to get him. (He was there for two hours) -sad that this week, Garett only has four days left at daycare :( Friday is Keira's first day, while I keep g home with me. Can't believe it's already almost school time!! -as a "goodbye" gift from g, we bought his daycare provider a necklace from peoples that is a heart with some Garnet stones in it (Garett's birthstone), to remember him by, and I ordered an Aukey essential oils diffuser , a doTERRA starter kit and an essential oils mixing guide recipe book thing. Friday fun!

Thank God it's Friday, and that this week is O-V-E-R!!! -It was a stressful week at home. Looking forward to a fun weekend! -I am being audited for child care expenses in 2018--I'm not the only one that thinks we pay too much money in child care! LOL...I submitted my receipts online (they are catching up with the times and it's great!) and turns out I actually underclaimed by a few hundred dollars haha. -Tonight is calm, just hanging at home with the kids. -Saturday I have an eyelash appointment at 2:00, and then we have a sitter coming at 6:00 so we can go to a Wine & Cheese night up the road at our friends house. -Sunday is a day of rest until the evening when Shan comes over and we head into town to go to the Trailer Park Boys Christmas at the NAC (I bought Tyler and I tickets as an early Christmas gift).
