Weekend Recap

Image
This weekend I was hoping to catch up on relaxing and tanning. It didn't work out to be so calm lol Friday night Tyler was gone to a friends house for a poker game. His friend hosts this once a month, but he hasn't been able to get there in three or four. He was trying to decide if we should instead go to our friends gig that was also a lobster boil, but I told him I would rather stay home and relax after the week I had, so go on ahead to the game. Saturday morning, we all slept in until 8:15 and then made breakfast and tidied a bit. I headed out around 9:30 for my nail appointment and stopped in at Sobey's to get a few things. Tyler and Garett went over to our friend Rod and Sharon's to help unload a bit of their Pod, and visit, while Keira was supposed to nap. She did NOT nap, so I packed their overnight bags and made some "Chicken Crack" for dinner. Around 6:30, we headed over to TJ and Jamis for the kids to play. We put keira down shor...

Hump Day

Image
Happy hump day, everyone! We are halfway through the week that is another chaotic week for me. I will be very happy when June is over! Work wise, it is a very tiring month! When I got home yesterday, Ty had already set up the big mosquito trap. We put it in the area with the stalest air to see what we would catch, and we caught like 20 overnight! We will move it to downwind as suggested and see what we catch then :) Here it is next to Keira, for size comparison lol It emits a warm co2 as well as attractant, and as they approach, there is also vaccuming of air and they get trapped in a basket thing. Hopefully this solves a lot of our issues,  or at least reduces it! Yesterday, our good friends (Garett's Godparents), Rod and Sharon, picked up the keys to their new house. They asked us to bring the kids over since it's pretty close to our house now,  just up the road in Cheney. So Ty rode his motorcycle over, and I drove the kids. We got a tour of their home (really beau...

Summer Vibes

Image
Summer is quickly approaching (as in it officially begins this Friday)! Our summer usually takes on a theme of things we have accepted. Some years, it's a lot of fairs and festivals, some years it's a lot of day trips, some years it's a lot of bbqs and visiting. This year is shaping up to be a BBQ and visits kind of summer! My favourite kind - So laid back and relaxed! I really want to get a handle on the back deck situation- We ordered our dining set and a double lounger daybed kind of thing. They cancelled our order because they were out of stock, but still haven't updated the website to say out of stock. So we ordered it again and are now in a war with them. Even if they just let me pick a similar set and price match would be good! I just want to get it done so we can set up back there- I want to eat dinner out there ALL OF THE TIME. *side note: our mosquito trap has shipped and it should arrive soon. I have high hopes that this propane p...

Father's Day Weekend

Image
This father's day, we stuck close to home. We didn't visit with any family, but we celebrated Tyler. Friday I was barely in the office. We had a big demo downtown, and then went back to work just to grab my car and we headed to a funeral (me and a few other people from work). I didn't go back to work after, since we left there around 3:15. I fought traffic to Orleans and went to my lash appointment a little bit early. It was not supposed to be until 5, but I went for about 4:30, and was out shortly after 5. So I went and grabbed our android boxes (even though I didn't feel like it because I had walked around enough in my heels for one day). I headed home, and Shan,  Casey and Rylie were there for dinner and the kids played. I cracked open the spiced rum we bought at the duty free and had a drink or two, after a trying day. They left around 9:00, so Ty and I went in the hot tub and then watched some Game of Thrones. Saturday, the kids slept in (surprisingly) unt...

Small Getaway- Niagara Falls & Buffalo, NY

Image
Last week (June 6), Ty and I headed out on a road trip. We returned home on June 8, so it was a quick time away! On Thursday June 6, as soon as the kids woke up, we loaded up the truck and headed to Cornwall to drop the littles off at my parents house for 2 nights. We headed out and stopped at Walmart for some road snacks and a case of water as well as some greasy McDonald's breakfast (definitely saw my dad and Garett pull into the parking lot before we even left town lol). We crossed over in Cornwall, with zero wait at the border. The BSO asked us about the kids we left behind (noticing the car seats in the back lol). We only stopped once for a bio-break , and then drove straight to Niagara Falls, NY. We parked in a big lot, and walked down to the Maid of the Mist for the 20 minute boat ride (not a ton of pictures or video since it was SO wet). Once we were done, we grabbed a few souvenirs (a personalized magnet, a shot glass and a snow globe thing). Once we were...

Weekends

This past weekend was SO boring. We don't often have nothing going on on weekends, and I always feel like I need a break from hectic weekends, but when I do, I am bored out of my tree lol Friday I ran to the insurance office on my lunch hour and grabbed my documents, and then we did nothing in the evening--played until bed! Saturday, I was up around 7:30 with the crew, made some French toast and fruit salad for the kids and headed to the salon for a new do. I was looking for something different, so if you follow me on social media, you will know I took the plunge and got bangs (eek..I am still scared). Afterwards, I went home and we played  outside for a bit before lunch and keiras nap. We just tidied up the house for the 4.5 hours keira napped for. We were going to have some people over, but decided we were too tired to host, and instead we shared a drink and watched game of thrones until 10:30 and went to bed (lol, exciting, see?) Sunday, the kids were up at SIX o'c...
