Summer Vibes
Summer is quickly approaching (as in it officially begins this Friday)!
Our summer usually takes on a theme of things we have accepted. Some years, it's a lot of fairs and festivals, some years it's a lot of day trips, some years it's a lot of bbqs and visiting.
This year is shaping up to be a BBQ and visits kind of summer! My favourite kind - So laid back and relaxed!
I really want to get a handle on the back deck situation- We ordered our dining set and a double lounger daybed kind of thing. They cancelled our order because they were out of stock, but still haven't updated the website to say out of stock. So we ordered it again and are now in a war with them. Even if they just let me pick a similar set and price match would be good! I just want to get it done so we can set up back there- I want to eat dinner out there ALL OF THE TIME.
*side note: our mosquito trap has shipped and it should arrive soon. I have high hopes that this propane powered beast will solve a lot of bug issues.
We have at least three weekends booked to bring the kids for pool parties/bbq's etc, and not including the ones we will host.
I have Woodstock to plan for and Keira's birthday party (both in August, one weekend apart).
We failed miserably at booking the cottage this year, but may look into it for two nights for just the 4 of us somewhere in the area, since the cottage is always a highlight of the kids summer. But are working to try and figure out a trip to Parc Safari and potentially Vaughn (but I don't know if I want to have the kids in the car for THAT long). It's funny how some years things just seem to not fall into place, no matter how much you try lol.
I got the calendar for Garett's summer camp this morning, and I must say that I am VERY jealous, and feel guilty for totally taking summer vacation for granted as a child lol.
Programming:
Mondays: new activity days (introduction to cross fit, martial arts, Zumba, yoga, etc- a new one each week)
Tuesdays: Guest speakers (fire fighters, singers, dancers, etc)
Wednesdays: Field trips (pizza pizza, parc omega, a local high school etc)
Thursdays: Water play days (outside or at a local splash pad)
Fridays: Theme days (western, super heroes, etc)
We also have a family picture session/watermelon mini session for the kids booked in July- we are about 3 years overdue for some new professional family pictures lol oops!
What are your big plans this summer?
