Weekend Recap

This weekend I was hoping to catch up on relaxing and tanning. It didn't work out to be so calm lol
Friday night Tyler was gone to a friends house for a poker game. His friend hosts this once a month, but he hasn't been able to get there in three or four. He was trying to decide if we should instead go to our friends gig that was also a lobster boil, but I told him I would rather stay home and relax after the week I had, so go on ahead to the game.

Saturday morning, we all slept in until 8:15 and then made breakfast and tidied a bit. I headed out around 9:30 for my nail appointment and stopped in at Sobey's to get a few things.



Tyler and Garett went over to our friend Rod and Sharon's to help unload a bit of their Pod, and visit, while Keira was supposed to nap. She did NOT nap, so I packed their overnight bags and made some "Chicken Crack" for dinner.

Around 6:30, we headed over to TJ and Jamis for the kids to play. We put keira down shortly before 8 and then started a fire. The kids stayed up running around until almost 10:00. Garett went right to sleep.


On the walk back home, we popped in at our direct neighbours house, as they were having a bunch of other neighbours and friends over, they had a live band in their living room and we ate some chicken wings and had a few drinks there.

We were in bed around 2:00 since we decided to also watch an episode of Game of Thrones before bed while eating an entire wheel of baked brie and beet crackers lol

Sunday, the kids were home to play around 10:30, and I was planning on riding to Cornwall but I was tired and the kids were wound up, so we just stuck close to home. Keira went for a nap at 12:45 and slept until 4:30 or so.

Dolly and Shan had been swimming at my mother in laws while her and Ty were gone to a celebration of life, but we didn't get there because of Kiera's super long nap. So on our way into town I just called them and asked if they wanted to meet for ice cream. We went to Marble Slab near my MIL's house, and the kids were still super wound up. You can tell my mental status at this point of the weekend by how I allowed Keira to go into public with her "Tiger Stripes" she had drawn on herself moments before we left the house lol.



We cut the visit short because I didn't want them running around in a restaurant.  Tyler and Casey had met us there, so I left him behind to finish his ice cream, and picked up drive thru for the kids. I was going to take them to Five Guys, but my patience had dwindled almost entirely, so I took the easy way out. We went home to eat. We did baths and it was almost immediately bedtime :)

Garett woke up around 12:30 after having had a nightmare, so I was up for a little bit with him, but he wasn't long out of bed.

      I should note, in the 5 seconds it took her to do them, she also destroyed two pictures Garett spent an hour colouring with that same marker haha

Life Lately

-Hosting Bearbrook Ladies night two weekends ago was wonderful! I put out a full charcuterie spread, made a mint/cranberry/grapefruit drink to share, and all of us received a tarot card reading, palm read and a facial read. -Garett went on his first friend play date ever , and he had so much fun. It was his two best friends that left daycare to start school last year. -happy that while Garett was at his play date, Tyler was home with Keira and I went out for a bit alone, then came home and we finished The Belko Experiment movie before I went to get him. (He was there for two hours) -sad that this week, Garett only has four days left at daycare :( Friday is Keira's first day, while I keep g home with me. Can't believe it's already almost school time!! -as a "goodbye" gift from g, we bought his daycare provider a necklace from peoples that is a heart with some Garnet stones in it (Garett's birthstone), to remember him by, and I ordered an Aukey essential oils diffuser , a doTERRA starter kit and an essential oils mixing guide recipe book thing. Friday fun!

Thank God it's Friday, and that this week is O-V-E-R!!! -It was a stressful week at home. Looking forward to a fun weekend! -I am being audited for child care expenses in 2018--I'm not the only one that thinks we pay too much money in child care! LOL...I submitted my receipts online (they are catching up with the times and it's great!) and turns out I actually underclaimed by a few hundred dollars haha. -Tonight is calm, just hanging at home with the kids. -Saturday I have an eyelash appointment at 2:00, and then we have a sitter coming at 6:00 so we can go to a Wine & Cheese night up the road at our friends house. -Sunday is a day of rest until the evening when Shan comes over and we head into town to go to the Trailer Park Boys Christmas at the NAC (I bought Tyler and I tickets as an early Christmas gift).
