Absentee

I have not been a good blogger. But ask me how much I care? Ziiiiiiillllccchhhhh Garett is getting more and more active as the days go on, staying awake for huge periods of time and being a sponge to everything, so I'm trying to do fun stuff with him and spend time enjoying this time because if I've learned anything over the last (longer than) 7 months, is that it goes WAY too fast.  So, while he blows off some steam in his jolly jumper, I thought I would catch up a bit. There, we are all caught up. lol. That's right, there is a glorious lack of information, pictures or stories to share at the moment.  Tomorrow I will be cleaning and packing all day until Ty gets home from his gig. Then we are finishing his packing in the morning, heading to Cornwall to drop off the G man for 2 nights and hop on over to Montreal for our second wedding anniversary (can it really be 2 years already???). MUCH deserved time off--is it bad I want to nap the whole time?? Lolol but I will put on m...

Thank god it's Monday !

I don't know about you all, but I am happy to see this Monday come! Didn't do much this weekend but it seemed hectic ! Probably because I was playing Lone Ranger parent a lot of the weekend lol Thursday Ty was home pretty early! he brought Garett a present--a real Marvel Hulk guitar. the box says 4+, but we will open it around 2 yrs to get a head start. i think it's killing ty not to open it and play with it himself haha later that night we bought Django Unchained on the Apple TV and all relaxed. I'm surprised I liked this movie so much--I usually don't like things with gore, but the story was just so good!! Friday night Ty had a party to go to for his uncles birthday, and since it only started later in the evening (like I'm talking after Garett's bedtime lol), he went ahead and stayed the night.  During the day I had a dress fitting/got to take my dress home for my sister in law/ one of my bestest's wedding. My dad came to town and took myself and Garet...

Who else wants to be a man?

Not really me, but I do think men reap many benefits Of which certainly wish I could partake.  Here are some reasons I feel women could just want to be a man as a form of vacation: 1) do I need to state the obvious about standing to pee? You would not have to pull your pants down and sit. That seems like a luxury. Not to mention all the times it would come in handy--camping, when you just can't wait and you're in the middle of nowhere , etc. 2) I do not want to stereotype here, but in my home meals are cooked (usually ) and it takes all my free time just to clean up after mr. Hurricane. Gee, I really would LOVE a live-in maid myself, thank you!! 3) not having hips. Who knew that having hips was the cause of jeans that never stay flush to your skin when you sit!! Can I get an amen? 4) not needing a necklace, shoes, rings, earrings, bracelets to match every outfit you own and any future outfit you may buy, 5) so much less prep time--long hair? Nope! Makeup? Nope! Moisturizing rit...

Almost there

What a thunderstormy kind of day! I normally really like these days when I'm home, but Garett does NOT. It's hard to get the house to look like natural lighting and I think he feels like it is night time always on days like this and he doesn't want to play or anything. Oh well! One day in the last I don't know how long is ok with me! The car needs a good wash:) lol Yesterday was a low key day. Ty was done work and shopping for a few things he wanted and was home early. We were both tired, so I made a nice dinner. I did up an Alfredo sauce I found a recipe for--YUM. Next time I would put more on the pasta (like double the recipe lol) but it was still good:), added a bit of broccoli, and I had marinaded some steaks in a garlic/cracked black pepper marinade I wanted to try and broiled them up so we didn't have to BBQ. Mmmm I want to eat more of this now lol Garett has been so funny these last few days, like a little man. He is just talking away, crawling, climbing, sta...

Best husband ever

Image
Last night was tame, as always. Ty got home around 4:30 and gave Garett his last bit of zucchini and some banana for dessert, followed by a bath while I cooked dinner. I whipped up some bacon and asparagus wrapped in phyllo pastry, chicken in a cream sauce and scalloped potatoes au gratin. Can I just say how I cannot get over never having used the mandolin-like slicer attachment for my food processor. It is so fast! I sliced 10 potatoes in 15 seconds--no lie.  After dinner, we really just relaxed, and it wasn't long before it was bed time for all of us :) see? Tame!!! Lol I feel like with all the pregnancy/childbirth/being an obsessive mommy madness I never talk about Tyler  anymore other than in a date night recap, to complain or to say what time he got home. But the truth of the matter is this man deserves a blog entry dedicated to him, and then some! Lol here are some reasons I literally have the best husband in the world: 1) he is my BEST friend. No joke, I tell him everyt...

Weekend recap

Image
Well, this is not the post I was hoping to be writing today. Because on a scale of 1 to fun, I wanted to be writing a fun one, instead, it turned out to be about a 3 lol Friday, Ty decided to take the day off (bonus) and we headed up to the cottage for the day, stopping to do a few work related things on the way. It was such a nice relaxing day. We hung out an played, we put out a blanket on the grass near the beach to lay on, took Garett in the water (only the shallow stuff) and he crawled and splashed around for a while having a blast. He tried to eat a few handfuls of sand, but mom and dad caught him before he succeeded (poor guy lol). We had an early dinner of potatoes and chicken on the BBQ and helped load everyone up before heading back to town. It was just the day in the sun and fresh air we needed for a break! Will post pics later :) Saturday, I had prepaid for our date day to the national capital craft beer weeks final day, and we were so excited to sample local breweries good...

Still alive!

I have been in hiding the last few days playing with my favourite little dude:)  so, pardon my lack of posts and my lack of desire to write. I still don't feel overly motivated to pour over every detail from the last few days since who really cares, right? Lol Today I will not post about cleaning or shopping or even about yummy suppers I've been making, but instead about the truths of life ( or mine at least ).  These are 5 main truths I can think of in my almost 27 years--and will only keep adding to the list as the years go on! The number one truth of life is this: my little family I made takes my breath away. Every moment of everyday I am thinking about them and my heart is exploding with love. I had no idea before I had a baby. I thought i did--but, wow...this love...just wow. There is no better way to explain it other than to say it was like I wasn't living before; I was going through the motions and waiting for life to start. Becoming a mom has completed my life, this...

Tuesday Bluesday

What a blah day. It's overcast. It's Tuesday. There is not much else to say about that! Yesterday Ty was home around 1:30 so we cleaned the basement, played with Garett, had relaxing soaks (yes, I am going though a phase where I am obsessed with baths--you would be too if you buy a bath caddy rack thing and some bath and body works aromatherapy bath foam! I even have Ty hooked lol...only thing bath related he doesn't roll his eyes at the cost now! Lol) After that, my evening plans got derailed (I wanted to BBQ and sit outside with Garett and hang out in the hammock) when it started down pouring. Oh well! We BBQ'd yummy t bones and had some salad!  Garett was down around 8 and slept until 6:30, so I got a fantastic sleep. Poor Ty had crazy heartburn, and allergies and couldn't fall asleep, so he brought a blanket and pillow to the living room to read and fell asleep. I woke up at 3am to go to the washroom and I heard him still sneezing :( I can only assume this means...

What a weekend (recap)!

Image
I am so sad this weekend is over, yet big time relieved it is over and went off without a hitch !! Friday night I made my taco dip and hamball (taco dip never got touched so we snacked on that last night lol) and finished cleaning and getting the house decorated and ready to party like its 2013! My family was very limited at this cousins weekend (only one cousin and her husband came) but they had a blast and I got to know a few of Ty's cousins we don't see very often a lot better. Love it!  Volleyball dominated much of the afternoon... And we managed to raise $252 on a 50/50 for uncle Vince's treatment (cousin Melissa won and gave all the money back).  We got a group photo (missing a few people)...and pardon the bare bottom lol.  Things slowed down and the guitars came out and cousin Sal and I built a fire :) I didn't take any pictures aside from the decorations so those last ones are taken from Facebook :) Everyone was in bed or gone by 4:30! Late night but so worth it...

Productivity at an all time low

Image
Looks like I am choosing to be running around frantically tomorrow! Last night when Ty got home, I hadn't even started dinner yet because I did end up playing all day (not gonna lie), so he just ate some leftovers which negated my need to cook a single thing, so I proceeded to go on a deep cleaning spree of the bedrooms and bathroom and put away some laundry, which would have been great if those things had been on my to do list--ah well, it needed to be done!  Supper for me consisted of toast-- and I am ok with that. If it were just me, I live on that stuff--toast and cereal lol.  After that, I laid back and finished my online application for my fave show ever--Come Dine With Me Canada. Now I doubt I will ever make it onto the show because there are so many factors (where are they looking, when it would be, there's an audition, etc), but how cool would that be!! Bucket list! Garett was in bed around 9 and we followed suit soon after!  Cue my 7:15 wake up (heaven). Today I ...

Where is this week going?!

Image
For real...how is this week going this fast! I feel like I have no time left to do what I have to do--and instead of it lighting the fire under my behind, it is making me feel like procrastinating! Yikes! On Monday night we just relaxed with a nice dinner at our new table--honey garlic pork chops, baked potatoes and the most delicious broccoli I have ever made, for real. I didn't even manage to get a picture because we were so hungry, we chowed down as soon as I put it on the table lol. Garett became an avid crawler on Monday--but he's sneaky about it! He will crawl slowly or circle around grabbing toys if someone is watching him, but if I pretend to look away, he boots it as fast as he can to the thing on the floor I do NOT want him touching. On Monday, this was my hand lotion pump *sigh lol.  Yesterday, Garett and I went for a bit of a walk since it was so nice outside! Ty was home around 3 and I ran out to get some stuff I needed for Saturday and came home to make supper. La...

Long weekend recap!

Image
This weekend went by pretty quick, but we accomplished a lot! Friday was really low key--stayed home and put mounds of laundry away! So when Ty got home, I handed the baby over and settled in for a bath with my new bath caddy :) in hand was a glass of white wine, my new Cosmo and a new candle, and LOtS of bubbles...ahhhhh, heaven. Then Ty comes in and says "oh yah, we're going to Swiss chalet for dinner"...which didn't bother me because I was done in the bath by then and getting hungry lol. Off to Swiss chalet to meet the in laws :) the company was great, but the food was so undercooked (I had pasta) and Garett was not enjoying being woken up to be there, so we were happy to get home!! We went to bed pretty soon after getting home! Saturday we were up bright and early! We poked around the house a bit before I headed out to pick up dolly and Shannon for the bridesmaid dress fitting--I can't wait to see it on the 24th when it fits properly !:) then we headed out to ...

Finally Friday

Image
Ok, I know I have been saying time is going fast--but this week crawled by. Is there no happy medium??  Yesterday Ty was home very early because of the rain-- he just went into town for some banking and to pay his employees. So when he got home, I went out for a few groceries and afterwards cleaned out and organized the cupboards under the kitchen and bathroom sink, the pan cupboard, the corner cupboard Ty and I hate and the butcher block that we have decided to also keep! I got the new stuff all organized too and called it a night! We had a light dinner of some sandwiches since we ate a late lunch :)  Afterwards, Ty went out for a few things and then we just relaxed as a family and cuddled up in bed watching a movie :) Garett was down for the count around 9, and so were we! Today, Garett starts his next food-- Avocado! I almost feel bad for him because he loved banana so much and will be expecting that taste :( I wanted to do zucchini next, but my grocery store had ZERO zucch...

Why do people read my blog?

Image
Seriously though lol trying to come up with a title I think, what describes my blog today and I can't help but think of how dull I am yet I get so many reads a day LOL ah well! I can't come up with better titles anyways ! Yesterday I accomplished next to nothing. I put one small laundry basket away, did a few dishes and that about wraps it up! Some days the babes needs more love and attention then others, and yesterday was one of those days, so it's all good!  Once Ty got home, he took G man to play and I made dinner. Last nights dinner was Ty's fav pasta dish I make. My spaghetti sauce I made last week and had in the freezer, cooked with spicy Italian sausage and garlic bread with some garlic st Alberts cheese (buy this! Mmm).  For dessert, I made up some strawberry mousse with some whipped cream with some strawberries on top (YUM) What has life come to that supper is now in my blog? Get a life, Amy. Lol We got a new bakers rack shelf and butcher block for the kitchen ...
