Weekend recap

Well, this is not the post I was hoping to be writing today. Because on a scale of 1 to fun, I wanted to be writing a fun one, instead, it turned out to be about a 3 lol

Friday, Ty decided to take the day off (bonus) and we headed up to the cottage for the day, stopping to do a few work related things on the way. It was such a nice relaxing day. We hung out an played, we put out a blanket on the grass near the beach to lay on, took Garett in the water (only the shallow stuff) and he crawled and splashed around for a while having a blast. He tried to eat a few handfuls of sand, but mom and dad caught him before he succeeded (poor guy lol). We had an early dinner of potatoes and chicken on the BBQ and helped load everyone up before heading back to town. It was just the day in the sun and fresh air we needed for a break! Will post pics later :)

Saturday, I had prepaid for our date day to the national capital craft beer weeks final day, and we were so excited to sample local breweries goods and some yummy culinary delights, but Tyler's body had other plans. Instead, his day was spent with a bucket beside the bed, running to the washroom with a fever. To say I was irked is an understatement. I hate wasting money and I hate when plans fall through  even more. (And i missed oI made him soup and fed him water and gingerale in hopes to salvage the day, but around 3:30, it was clear that it was the flu and not just an upset tummy and fever. So Ty slept all day almost and g man and I hung out. 

Sunday was the same--Ty wasn't as sick but he was feeling off. He was feeling well enough to at least watch Garett a bit so I could relax in the bath, make some butternut squash bisque (yum! Will make again in the fall) and some m&m cookies. We watched a lot of TV and just hung out! 

Garett finished up his sweet potato this weekend and started zucchini--which he was very Leary of at first, now on his last day of those, he likes them...silly boy!!

Anyways, yah that's my unexpectedly boring and relaxing weekend! Lol hope you all got a chance to unwind and had some fun :) have a good week!!

Life Lately

-Hosting Bearbrook Ladies night two weekends ago was wonderful! I put out a full charcuterie spread, made a mint/cranberry/grapefruit drink to share, and all of us received a tarot card reading, palm read and a facial read. Pretty much the reoccurring consensus between all three reads (it was two different people doing it) was that my heart and mind live in a state of conflict, but that it works for me to live in a state of balance. I deal mostly with logic and facts, and less with emotions; they think I would be good as an analyst (weird, since this is pretty well my role at work), and with numbers (which I also do all day at work lol). -Garett went on his first friend play date ever , and he had so much fun. It was his two best friends that left daycare to start school last year. -happy that while Garett was at his play date, Tyler was home with Keira and I went out for a bit alone, then came home and we finished The Belko Experiment movie before I went to get him. (He was there for two hours) -sad that this week, Garett only has four days left at daycare :( Friday is Keira's first day, while I keep g home with me. Can't believe it's already almost school time!! -as a "goodbye" gift from g, we bought his daycare provider a necklace from peoples that is a heart with some Garnet stones in it (Garett's birthstone), to remember him by, and I ordered an Aukey essential oils diffuser , a doTERRA starter kit and an essential oils mixing guide recipe book thing. Friday fun!

Thank God it's Friday, and that this week is O-V-E-R!!! -It was a stressful week at home. Looking forward to a fun weekend! -I am being audited for child care expenses in 2018--I'm not the only one that thinks we pay too much money in child care! LOL...I submitted my receipts online (they are catching up with the times and it's great!) and turns out I actually underclaimed by a few hundred dollars haha. -Tonight is calm, just hanging at home with the kids. -Saturday I have an eyelash appointment at 2:00, and then we have a sitter coming at 6:00 so we can go to a Wine & Cheese night up the road at our friends house. -Sunday is a day of rest until the evening when Shan comes over and we head into town to go to the Trailer Park Boys Christmas at the NAC (I bought Tyler and I tickets as an early Christmas gift).
