Random Thursday
Another week is quickly coming to a close..time before Christmas is slipping through my fingers--there is so much I want to get done; so much I want to do with G...less than a month to go, folks!
I ordered most of the remainder of gifts left to purchase yesterday (I have 1 person left to shop for--I am way ahead of where I was last year, but I still worry that one of the things I ordered will be cutting it pretty close to Christmas arrival!)...I also polluted my orders with gifts for myself...but really...what's Christmas without gifts to yourself? I ordered the new bedding for the spare room (time to get this show on the road--getting G's room done has motivated us a bit more to finish the rest of the house). I ordered some clothes for myself. I ordered all new pillows.I ordered new PJ's for myself at Christmas (why should G be the only one with new pj's? hah)..pretty good considering the amount of things I almost bought but didn't. I know by buying house stuff now, doesn't mean it will get done before Christmas--so I will wait patiently--with my floor lamps, art wood and shelving sitting in my virtual shopping cart collecting cobwebs (instead of in my house collecting dust hah).
Yesterday could have been the longest day in history. For some reason I miss G more days than others--yesterday I almost left at noon to go get him so I could sniff his neck and give him a bagillion kisses...so, minutes ticked by as slowly as hours pass...I toughed it out. I got greeted by G and doggy, both with a smile, one with a warm lick of the hand, and the other yelling " MOMMY" and pointing at me as he quickly collapsed to his bum to put on his boots...ah...nothing like a little mans love to end the day :)
When we got home, he did his usual--pick up the cat water dish for me to fill up for the "meows" and got his drink all ready to lay down and relax...while he relaxed, I took out the ingredients from the pantry I needed for dinner, checked Facebook and got out his favourite book for when he got up.
Daddy got home shortly before 5 yesterday (which is really early again), gave G a little snack in his highchair, then kept him entertained while I cooked dinner...We've been in a funk for a few months of ordering in or cooking the same recipes, and it's just so boring. So I've started meal planning again, and I always wonder why I stop doing this in the first place--it takes all guessing out of the equation--we save a lot of money because it's never "What do you want to make for dinner tonight? I Don't know, let's just order"...I save even more money because then I actually WANT to bring leftovers for lunch (saves me like $15 a day), and it broadens G's horizons....I do NOT want a picky eater on my hands.
So in my quests for new recipes, I found the best Chicken Florentine recipe I've ever eaten in my life. Garlic and pesto and alfredo and spinach and chicken and I used vegetable pasta instead of regular pasta...oh my word...so delicious. Not only did I love it (which rarely happens--I am very hard on judging new recipes), Tyler ate two bowls of it and G ate my entire first bowl himself--he was in love. Even with us chowing down, I still had enough to make my lunch, Ty's lunch and put some aside for G's dinner tonight --why deprive the child of another night of that reaction haha.
On the side I did up some Naan bread with roasted garlic and the Italian blend cheese sprinkled on top and broiled for a few minutes...Tyler ate this like it was going out of style as well lol...I will add this recipe to our regular rotation :)

After that, we played quite a bit, then I did my shower, G's bath, laid out our clothes for today and then my boy was pooped. He laid in bed with me watching Toopy and Binoo until I dragged him off to bed, half asleep.
I was debating starting a new book or watching some Pretty Little Liars, but I got caught up watching a movie called "Walk of Shame" with James Marsden, Elizabeth Banks, etc...it was actually really good. I would assume it's considered a comedy, though I never really laughed out loud, but it was fun/an easy mindless watch before bed.
Other than that, that 6AM alarm feels like it's earlier and earlier each time it goes off haha...hope everyone has a great Thursday :)
