Weekend Recap
I would like to express my gratitude to last week for going by quickly. All week I was living a day behind. I really couldn't believe it was Friday already when it turned up!
Friday was my "night off" from picking up G from daycare, doing the nightly routine/putting him to bed. Tyler had told me I could stay out all night if I wanted, but I didn't like the idea of that when G was getting over his coughing stuff. So I told him I would be home by 8:30 or 9...well I guess the restaurant had other plans.
My sister-in-law and I showed up at 5:20 and thank God we were at least early, because the wait at that point was already at least an hour. Seeing as how long we were waiting and no one else was showing up for a while, I almost gave the buzzer back and just left since I hate sitting around wasting time doing nothing when I could be home spending time with my little family. Friday night restaurants with no reservations= hell.
Eventually everyone else showed up, we waited some more and finally got a table at God knows what time. We had a good time and chatted for a while and then the end of the meal came and I had to drive home. I didn't get home until a little after 10. G was obviously asleep and Ty was just about totally out cold.
As it turned out, this weekend was Pop Expo (kind of like a comiccon), but there was also another event happening, so Tyler worked the Pop Expo, the other guy ran the other event, and the store was still open, so it was a busy weekend for Ty. He was gone on Saturday from 7:15-6:00 and then on Sunday from 7:15-6:30...weekends like that suck. They are profitable for the business, which is good, but me and the little dude miss daddy when he's so busy.
We got some help to decorate the front of the house with Christmas/Winter décor (just waiting on the wreath and other mini tree coming today)--and I have a package to get from the post office (not sure what that could be). I got started on the inside stuff (mantle, a little bit in the kitchen), but we haven't done the tree or anything yet. I have to wrap some gifts as well. I am currently hiding them in the powder room because G found my "hiding spot" of behind the couch and demanded I immediately open 4 of the toys. Yes, 4. So back online I went last night to do more shopping to replace the gifts I lost due to my poor hiding skills (oops).
I am half done my Christmas shopping :) Hoping by next week I will be totally done. Nothing is worse than last minute shopping! Trying to avoid it this year!
We also got G's room decorated for the most part--the art is up, the new light fixture is installed (though I didn't realise it took special bulbs so it's installed, but no bulbs inside ahah) and the drill died as we were trying to hang his big Ikea leaf, so we will hang that tonight after it's charged up :) I also put his new sheets and comforter thing on his bed, and am loving how it all looks--it's very clean and simple, but he loves the dinosaurs on his wall and often goes in to Roar at them haha.
Yesterday he had four baths (must have been the weekend of 4's). Three of the baths "just because" he kept running to the washroom yelling "BATH" and had a blast in each of them. The fourth bath...mandatory...he had an accident on the carpet last night--queue my gagging. So he had a bath and then we washed the carpet in that spot. Yuck. That's what you get for working on potty training and letting him run around nude sometimes (he's usually pretty good at running for the potty when he notices he has to pee). But he grabbed one of his blocks that have a big circle hole in the middle...and did his business right into the hole, instead of going to the potty. haha I guess at least he has the concept down...but really, buddy??? lol
Ty and I laid in bed watching "Message in a Bottle" last night with G between us, brought him to his room when he got sleepy and then ate a snack and I took my shower. We were all in bed sleeping by 9.
The crazy rain early this morning was so relaxing. I could sleep all day listening to that sound against the window. It was so hard to wake up this morning I was so calm.
Happy to say goodbye to the snow for a little while longer anyways :)
On that note, I have nothing else to say! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Happy Monday!
