What I'm Loving Wednesday

...I purchased a few dresses and two new bathing suits to add to my collection for our trip. They should be here in 2 weeks :) ...I also ordered Garett's costumes, and they will be here October 6. I got exactly what he wanted, and the costume that was normally a little more, I got 64% off on a flash sale. Pretty excited since I normally never find a sale lol. ...When I go to the gym and come home to find the dishwasher loaded and on, and a load of laundry running. It's the little things in life that impress me lol ...Dressing for fall! ...Rainy days=an excuse to not have to go out and put up all my fall décor lol. The weekends and weeknights are just too busy, I wonder when I will find the time!? ...9 more days until my favourite co-worker gets back from her 6 week trip around Europe! (also excited to not have to do her job anymore lol). ...Made a quinoa salad for dinner last night and the boys also devoured it. Garett is a little quinoa fiend! He also ate almost my...

*Weekend Recap*

I had a wonderful extra long weekend.  I decided to take Thursday and Friday off at the last minute, so I dropped Garett off at daycare on Thursday, ran some errands in town (shopping lol) and met Tyler for breakfast at Kozy Nest before he left for the derby. I had to wait in the car when I got home for a while because the cleaners were still in there, and I didn't want to interrupt. Soon after, I packed up the car, picked up Garett and we headed to Cornwall for the weekend (my birthday weekend! lol). Friday was a busy day watching the kids play. My dad and I took Garett to the grocery store before his nap to pick up stuff for dinner--the grocery store is his most favourite place ever, so he had a good time. And people everywhere always comment on how cute he is, and feel this need to touch him. But I guess that's the price you pay for having an adorable child! lol. We put some money in the seeing eye dog bank and headed out. I had bought some dinosaur cookie c...

What I'm Loving Wednesday

...cruising through sites I buy clothes off of, finding clothes for our upcoming trip (I love shopping for vacation clothes around this time because everything summer is on sale :)) ...When stores you love have 40% off sales, and having a sister that tells you about them when you don't notice :) ...That cooler mornings mean a chance to go through all of G's fall coats to see what doesn't fit anymore (most do, but some are a little short in the sleeves!)..love making room for more! lol ...That I only have one more full week after this until my coworker comes back from Europe. I have never missed someone SO much. ...Looking forward to the weekend festivities. Not looking forward to all the driving. ...The cleaning lady comes tomorrow, and that means coming home to a clean house after the weekend is over, which I also like :) ...Considering taking Thursday AND Friday off, but not sure yet. I am so fed up with this week, and at the things ending up on my desk. I...

Back in the swing of things

Nothing makes going back to a normal routine harder than being out of it for a few days! Since I celebrated my week-early birthday with Tyler on the weekend, I slipped a bit. I couldn't go to a class at the gym on Friday night (I really enjoy my Friday night class), and instead indulged (mind you not as bad as I could have) in crab cakes and white wine. Not to mention the late night slice of pizza (the actual act of the pizza wasn't as bad as the time at which I ate it). Followed by a day of "I forgot to eat anything", followed by a day of eating a hamburger for lunch and feeling like I might die that night (I legitimately thought my appendix or something was taking me out, and Tyler told me to relax, it was either severe indigestion or a pulled muscle). That'll learn me. I am such a creature of habit. I have come to love my new routine, and my new way of eating. If I spend more than a few hours living outside of that new norm, I feel the effects for a couple ...

Like I'm gonna lose you..

You know, life gets comfortable. Too comfortable. We take THINGS for granted, and even worse, we learn to take the PEOPLE for granted. It's easy to appreciate people like veterans and first responders, but what about the people more important? Your parents, your siblings, your best friend, and your spouse (your love, the father/mother of your children/your rock). They are fixtures in your life, people you need more than you ever know until they are gone. Megan Trainor's new song is my jam right now. I listen to it on repeat, and it helps me see things a little more clearly. When I feel down on myself, on my relationships, when I feel like things are sliding, this is my go to song now. (It's called "Like I'm gonna lose you"), and here are the lyrics. Read them line by line. Listen to the song. Let it all sink in : I found myself dreaming In silver and gold Like a scene from a movie That every broken heart knows we were walking on moonlight And you pulled ...

*Weekend Recap*

This weekend was so laid back, I was ALMOST bored yesterday evening. On Friday we were a bit rushed. Tyler's concrete was an hour late arriving to their job site, so we arrived at my mother in laws with Garett all packed, and us all ready around 5:30. We drove to our friends Rod and Sharons house, had a quick glass of wine before the cab arrived, and we all headed to the market to Vineyards for dinner. I made a little piggy of myself (I say little because I could have been worse for my cheat meal lol)--I ate four crab cakes (theirs haunt my dreams they are so good), and had one piece of bruschetta (and they serve them on little melbatoast rounds, so not bad). We had two flights each--I tried a Niagara Challengers taster (had one Riesling , one pinot grigio and one chardonnay), and then I had a Chardonnay taster of three different regions. I always love it here because it adds to our favourites list when we need to buy some new wines! After we were stuffed, we jumped in a cab ov...

Moon Palace here we come...

Well we took the plunge last night. We have been watching the prices for our trip to Mayan Riviera (right on the border to Cancun though), and it just came down a little bit in price (they really nail you to the wall when you don't book for 7 nights, and just go for 5 instead), so we decided to finally book. So 58 days from now, we will be hopping on the plane to Moon Palace to take in a few more sights we didn't see last time, to see Toto in concert at the resort (main reason we are going lolol), and enjoy some sun and sand and relaxation. As it stands we are going alone, and this will be our first time travelling just the two of us (unless our other friends decide to book, which would be awesome!:)) And this resort is about to blow our minds. Usually we have stuck with smaller resorts--couples and adults only resorts really minimize the size, and our Dominican trip was family friendly and was already double the size of any we have visited prior. This one has three wings...
