Back in the swing of things

Nothing makes going back to a normal routine harder than being out of it for a few days!

Since I celebrated my week-early birthday with Tyler on the weekend, I slipped a bit. I couldn't go to a class at the gym on Friday night (I really enjoy my Friday night class), and instead indulged (mind you not as bad as I could have) in crab cakes and white wine. Not to mention the late night slice of pizza (the actual act of the pizza wasn't as bad as the time at which I ate it). Followed by a day of "I forgot to eat anything", followed by a day of eating a hamburger for lunch and feeling like I might die that night (I legitimately thought my appendix or something was taking me out, and Tyler told me to relax, it was either severe indigestion or a pulled muscle). That'll learn me.

I am such a creature of habit. I have come to love my new routine, and my new way of eating. If I spend more than a few hours living outside of that new norm, I feel the effects for a couple of days.

This week will be a bit out of the norm as well, since I will only be able to get to the gym three times, and no Friday night class again. But I'll kick it up a notch the following week. The trip is fast approaching, and I would like to drop at least 10 more pounds , or a few more inches before we go. After the last trip I vowed to never feel so gross on a trip again! While you never feel judged on a resort (no one cares what anyone else looks like), I felt uncomfortable. I know I won't be at my goal in two months, but I can be a little closer, and feel a little better about myself, and every little step counts! Maybe for the next trip I'll be rocking a new bod, but definitely not this time around lol.

I don't mean to toot my own horn, but last night I rocked that freaking workout. I killed every single circuit. I pushed through the core part without taking a break, and made me feel so good, like finally some progress. I left super sweaty with the trainer's boastful "awesome workout!". Went home and had a random plate of good food, and my boys sat at the table with me while I ate :) I made up a snack for G, and we watched some cartoons and cuddled, played a bit, had a photoshoot on my iphone, and went right to bed.

He woke up this morning saying "Mommy, I slept all night! The tooth fairy left me money!"..the things he thinks up to say is just too hilarious now. He is at such a fun age! The other night at the dinner table he looked at me and went "sooo? What do you think?!". I obviously made him say it a few more times so I could catch it on video, but nothing will replicate how serious and thoughtful he was when he said it the first time lol.

He's heavy into helping do everything now. Rinsing dishes, putting away his toys, pouring his drinks, picking his cutlery, helping me stir things, declaring "I HELPED" after we complete the task.

Anyways, happy to report I am back into the swing of things, and looking forward to next week, and being back to normal completely! :) Happy Tuesday to you!
