*Weekend Recap*
I had a wonderful extra long weekend. I decided to take Thursday and Friday off at the last minute, so I dropped Garett off at daycare on Thursday, ran some errands in town (shopping lol) and met Tyler for breakfast at Kozy Nest before he left for the derby.
I had to wait in the car when I got home for a while because the cleaners were still in there, and I didn't want to interrupt. Soon after, I packed up the car, picked up Garett and we headed to Cornwall for the weekend (my birthday weekend! lol).
Friday was a busy day watching the kids play. My dad and I took Garett to the grocery store before his nap to pick up stuff for dinner--the grocery store is his most favourite place ever, so he had a good time. And people everywhere always comment on how cute he is, and feel this need to touch him. But I guess that's the price you pay for having an adorable child! lol. We put some money in the seeing eye dog bank and headed out.
I had bought some dinosaur cookie cutters, and made some sugar cookies. I thought the boys (at least G since he usually helps me bake) would be really into it, but it ended in me alone in the kitchen cutting out cookies lol. G enjoyed eating them later that night though lol. We also had picked up some mini pumpkins to paint, but didn't get around to doing it that night (he did it on Saturday instead).
Saturday morning we were up and played a bit. I left right before G went for his nap, headed back home and showered, unpacked and packed another overnight bag, went to do some more errands, and headed to Almonte to my friend Kim's house. When she was done getting ready, we shared some wine and called the cab to take us to the fair. There was hardly any wait to get tickets for the show, probably because we were there pretty late (the opening act had already started), so we went in, grabbed a few drink tickets and found where we wanted to stand.
We sang and danced a bit, gave the last few drink tickets away because it was time to leave--Kim had to be up and in Gatineau for 7 AM, so we were in bed by 1 AM (which was still late, but we had to wait 40 minutes for the cab to leave). By 6:30 we were out the door (she was running late lol), and I was home by 8. I picked up some Tims on the way home for breakfast and laid down until G got home :)
Ty got home shortly after I put Garett for his nap, so we napped together for a few hours until G woke up. He was a little chatter box all afternoon, telling daddy every detail of his weekend and then finished with "Oh I Missed you and love you daddy!" Super cute.
We spent the afternoon just lounging around watching movies, ordered some food in, and cuddled. Garett was in bed by 8:45 and didn't hear a peep from him, so we went to bed around 9:30 and enjoyed some shut eye in our own bed :)
All in all, it was a hectic, fun filled 4 days! I had a lot of fun :) Always a fun time hanging out with family, and my first Carp Fair experience was a good one. Hope everyone enjoyed their weekends as well!!
