Mexico 2015 recap

Brace yourself. Long recap post because u don't want to do multiple lol. I left out a lot of detail and touched just on the basics lol...

So we went back to Mexico. It was a little outside of cancun, but still in cancun region at the Moon Palace Golf and Spa resort. 

We left on November 18 (weds). Our flight wasn't until noonish, so we got to the airport with lots of time. At 11:00 we ordered our first drinks of the trip. 

We had a bit if time once we got to Toronto, so another drink or two was ordered :) 

When we landed in cancun, it was nighttime and had just rained. But it was warm, and that's what mattered! We caught our private shuttle, had two corona each in the 15 minute drive to the resort, and immediately checked in, had a quick dinner at the buffet, unpacked our stuff, and went out. But first! I pulled out my selfie stick for our first group shot!

We headed down to "The Pub" so the boys could shoot some pool 

Then we headed over to the lobby bar. The lights in this place are so luxurious and beautiful!

We popped into the gift shop and bought some stuff, and ventured down to the beach. There was no lighting , but here is the first view of the ocean on this trip lol

Next morning: this is our view lolol you can catch a peak of the ocean, but it helped a lot with privacy to have a tree blocking everything lol

Casey and Shannon had a nice view though! 

Practised with my selfie stick a bit more, but still wasn't comfortable enough bringing it near water with my phone 3 feet n the sky above me lol

Shuttle over to the other lobby 

Casey tried the flow rider a few times while we he out at the poolside bar

Grabbed some seats by their swim up bar

Went to dinner at the Asian fusion restaurant. We ate too much, and all had some Saki (which I hate lol)

Stopped at the "swing" bar

Boys had some stogies 

Walked back to our end of the resort to catch the beach party with a live band playing pop music

Next day, we got up and grabbed a taco over to Sun Palace (where we went last time in Mexico ) to see the beach and swim since our resort had way too much seaweed and coral reef to swim at!!

We spent a while in the ocean and laid on the beach. Farther down you will see palace resort water bottles. Ty and I answered two trivia questions right and won them! Lol

Went in to the lobby bar and watched the boys play ping pong and watched the news lol

Crabbed back to our resort and spent the afternoon, into the evening in the pool /at the swim up bar. Finally got dressed and went to the Mexican restaurant (soooo good)

Welcomed a visitor into our room quickly

Next day: got up , grabbed a bagel and loaded onto the shuttle to our excursion. Once we arrived, a mariachi band played, and we fell in love with the inside beach area! Lol

We got a quick in service on the semi automatic ATV's and each hopped on our own, and rode through jungle, mud, water, and across the beach. It was such a blast! We ride through a swamp area and stopped to see a crocodile hiding in the swamp! Stopped for a few pictures along the way:)

After ATV'ing, we went in the speedboats. It was fun until it got wavy and he brought us into the dark water portion of the ocean. We have to follow the guide, so none of us were too impressed with how high we were flying out of our seats and smashing down on our tail bones ! We could have taken or left that part. 

When we got back, it was time to get ready ! It was toto night!! (I must mention Tyler got to meet three of the four band members by the pool/in the pool/in the lobby and thought he had died and gone to heaven)

It was decorated amazingly. The lighting kept switching colours, which made it hard to photograph, but was very visually appealing inside 

The dinner was pretty good!

We met some very friendly Mexican people at our table that had driven 6 hours to attend. 

Afterwards, we went to the pub!

 Next day: we relaxed until our couples massage on the golf resort side. It had rained just before we got there. The massage was wonderful, and soon enough we were back, getting ready for our last dinner!

We settled on Brazilian . I am still full thinking about it! This is where they come with huge skewers of fresh meats. I tried the turkey, sausage, Brazilian steak, flank steak, some other steak, tenderloin, and had salad and rice and potatoes followed by some cheesecake. Ugh. Then Ty and I ordered a Spanish coffee, and they wheeled over this table and put on a huge show, setting alcohol on fire and pouring it between two steel gravy boats. Hard to explain, but was so fun, and the Spanish coffees were the best ever!

Next day :lady morning. We met for breakfast and this was our view at the table :( we packed up, and the transfer picked us up at 9:30am! Long day of travelling ahead!

So at the airport we had a snack and a beer at bubba gumps ( I paid to get one of the bubba gump mason jar cups)

So off we went to Toronto. Then to ottawa. Then to the park and fly. Then to drop Shannon and Casey off, then HOME to hug and kiss that monkey all night. (Aka 1o:30 when he asked to go to his bed :() we brought him back a steel toy westjet airplane and a kids sombrero. He slept with that plane for a few nights lol

 All in all, we had a blast !! 5 nights is a good length of trip for us we found , until we start bringing g with us! Happy to be home!!
