What's up!?

Where have I been lately? Physically and mentally absent, that's where!
So in point form, here is a quick catch up:

- Had a shellac mani
- Had a pedicure done with Shannon
- Finished packing
- Spent 5 nights at the Moon Palace Golf & Spa resort in beautiful sunny Mexico.
- Booked Tuesday off (We arrived home on Monday night)
- Scrubbed the fridge and did groceries
- Went for an oil change (need to make an appointment to put on my winter tires though)
- Unpacked myself, Tyler and Garett
- Did ALL of the laundry that came home with us, since I had caught up on ALL of the laundry before we left. Was a quick three loads and put away. One and done!
- Spent the afternoon on Tuesday with Garett, and made a quick dinner (chicken broccoli and spiral noodle casserole) and had pastrami sandwiches as a snack later in the night (we became obsessed in Mexico lol).
- Paid bills online
- Back to work on Wednesday and caught up on 200 emails. Still hovering at 96 now. When I left, I got it down to 4! lol
- Yesterday was a "divisional day" so consisted of lots of presentations for us and two speakers in the morning. An international theme potluck for lunch , and team building exercises in the afternoon. I was so sweaty when I left from running around trying to get everything running smoothly !
-I made a Rosemary and Gruyere golden potato galette, and it was a huge success!
-We put up one of our Christmas trees in the downstairs living room front window (my tree), and Tyler's in the upstairs living room in a corner. We aren't finished decorating both, but I got my mantle done, and started the tops of the cabinets in the kitchen. Also got the two lit trees for either side of the porch put out and plugged in and my wreath. Still need to put the garland on the railings and around the door, wreaths on the garage lights, finish the garland on top of the cabinets, finish with the decorations, and decorate my office! lol
- I finished my Christmas shopping online for my family. G is just about done, then I just have to do his stocking and Christmas eve box.
-We put out "Alfy the Elf" this morning. We put out the lure last night--a fishing rod with a candy bracelet as bait. I put the bracelet around his neck to eat later on the trip to the north pole tonight, and left G an introductory note.Hopefully he jumps on board the elf on the shelf train lol I could have a lot of fun with this :)
- I marinated huge ribs overnight the other night and two nights ago we had those with some green beans and a separate galette I made extra when I made it for the potluck. Soooo tired of meat after I trip--overconsumed steaks while I was away lol
-Last night I just bought some of that fresh ravioli with spinach and ricotta inside and tossed mine in butter (the boys insisted on sauce on theirs though). We had some garlic bread on the side.
-Tyler made me my lunch lol--a sandwich and some carrot sticks and dip hahaha. He couldn't sleep again so he went down around 4AM and made them while I slept lol
-I am SO happy it's finally Friday. This three day work week has felt LONG even though it's so busy.
-Tomorrow is the Christmas parade we have to go to the store to watch. So we will probably do our Santa picture tomorrow, and then on sunday we are taking him to see a big lit up train in Finch. It will be a fun weekend :)
- I might start some Christmas baking tonight!
-I started 3 charity campaigns this week at work. Because, you know, I'm not busy enough. One is a toy mountain competition between divisions. We already raised a lot of money, but toy donations start next week until Dec 17, then we have a Christmas hamper campaign (cash or gift cards or gently used items for womens shelters)--for this one you "adopt" a family and they give you size/age of the people and you fill hampers for them. and a money campaign for the mission to buy turkeys for their Christmas dinner.
If you want to DONATE (time, money, food, clothes, toys, etc), go

-The weather went from frost on the windows the very mild and overcast the last two days. I can't say it makes me sad to wear a fall coat still in almost December, but it makes it harder to get in the Christmas spirit. I officially have cracked out the Christmas music!
-I made a plan for 10 of 27 days for the elf today. Hopefully I get some more wise ideas before those ones run out lol.
-I am TIRED. And out of here in 20 minutes! Have a good weekend, all :)

  1. I wanted to take the kids to see the train in Finch...but I don't think that's happening! I have had the Christmas music going for weeks now haha!

    1. I never partake in anything Christmas related until after Remembrance Day, and then I was too preoccupied looking forward to the trip that Christmas really took a backseat. I'm usually done my shopping by now. I feel behind! Lol
