Dominican Republic Day FOUR AND FIVE

On day 4, we spent the majority of our day dealing with upgrading our AMresorts membership. We were originally owners of a base level membership pacakage, with the intention of kicking it up to the 30 year package. After negotiating and weighing out our options / what we would use , we settled in the 20 year Grey pearl package instead. That evening , we got dressed up and went for a little dinner in the preferred lounge, took our coupons to the casino and played a little roulette. I made some money making bets based on #13, and were in bed quite early since we had another early morning to follow.

The next morning, on Day 5, we were picked up at 7:30 by an open air bus. It had rained a bit overnight I think, and the air felt chilly as we gained speed. Luckily it didn't take long to warm up! We drove into the Anamuya mountains to a 5 acre enclosure that houses 35 squirrel monkeys. Monkeyland Safari. In my opinion: heaven on earth. You get to trek through their paths and are given a bowl full of fruit. They are the cutest little things. They are so light, you barely even notice when they jump onto you, so you have to be careful how quickly you move and watch where you step!

If I could move in with those little monkeys, I would!! They are so sweet and soft. I really enjoyed seeing them.

I was a little peeved that we weren't told we would have to tour/sit through yet ANOTHER coffee and cocoa presentation. This one was probably the best we have seen, but after seeing it so many other times, we were exhausted. The kids on the excursion were really fed up by the end, and I felt bad for the parents since we all thought it would be a short day. They picked us up so early and we didn't get back to the resort until about 1:30-- no food was given to us, which I feel made the families more mad. Being just us though it wasn't bad. We just shoved our faces on a late lunch and had a late dinner at the French restaurant (my favourite meal the whole week).

We were in bed by 10pm as we knew we had a really busy day the following day as well.

We kept very busy this trip so we wouldn't miss the kids so much, and I had a few things I wanted to get done since we probably won't be back to the Dominican for a while!
