So aside from today which seems to be going fairly slow, this week seems to be moving along at a pretty good pace :)
It's been a pretty low-key week after work so far, and I plan to keep it that way tonight! Last night we ate out (Dairy Queen since I wanted some coney fries)--well--ate in (picked it up and brought it home) and I finally got a chance to watch the Olympic Closing Ceremonies on the PVR--It was a pretty decent show! Can't say I was overly impressed with my Spice Girls though :( They quite obviously can't stand each other and there was no real singing involved--just yelling out the lyrics. Oh well! After that, I went up and cleaned out the fridge (mmm a cleaned out fridge!) and made my meal list for the next little while.
Tonight, I have to go to the grocery store and buy everything--which I love--but I hate when I decide to do groceries on a weeknight--it is so much work since I take SO long strolling around the grocery store looking at stuff. I know I've been there a million and a half times, but I always find something new to read the label on and decide to try out *sigh*..once that's done, having to load it in the car, unload it at home (when I have a lucky day, my strong man will be at home waiting to help me unload), then put it all away and cook dinner, then clean up after dinner---just makes for a very hectic night! But there is nothing better then a house full of fresh food---greatest feeling!
I have also started a list of crock pot ideas, casseroles, etc that I can get ready in big ziplocs or those silver tray casserole dishes to start stock piling in the freezer. Now that I have my label maker, I can go nuts with things and dating them and what not :) I have heard this will be the most helpful thing I can do for myself while I have this energy and before the baby comes--3 months worth of dinners has been suggested but I will probably do a couple meals per weekend for the next little while until I get too tired :) Plus, it'll give me a chance to try out a bunch of things I don't usually make!
Anyways, tomorrow after work, I am taking my Meatball (Amber) out for a birthday dinner at Boston Pizza--then I have to go do some shopping since it's hers and my mom's birthdays on the 19th. We decided to do this since I can't go to her bbq on Saturday since we are going up to Cornwall for the night to hang out with my mom and family :) Sunday we are leaving fairly early (probably around 11) as Ty has a golf game he would like to get too--plus, it'll give me a chance to finish catching up on the cleaning/laundry and relax a bit (maybe start my meals).
Still trying to work out what we are going to do for our one year wedding anniversary (which is coming up VERY quick!). I need to figure it out fast! I was looking at the Couples Resort just outside of Renfrew but when I saw the prices, I got kind of turned off--Minimum 2 nights stay and the cheapest suite is over $1000 for the two nights--more expensive than a much nicer trip (though this resort looks VERY nice). So I was thinking maybe a train to Montreal to walk around Old Montreal, have a nice meal at a fancy restaurant there, see what other events are happening that weekend and get a nice suite at a hotel for the same price all together. Then there's another side of me that would like a little bed and breakfast somewhere in a little village we've never been to and just explore and do more country like things...we'll see...We don't have long to decide, so it'll likely be an impulse decision some day soon! lol
Hope everyone is enjoying their week still! Happy Thursday and keep in mind, tomorrow is FRIDAY and then our weekends begin!!! :) wooohoo!!
