Summer life is easy

It's funny how much easier summer life is. In the winter, we are in full on hibernation mode, and never venture out after we get home from work. During the summer, we are constantly outside, or out and about. It gets to the point where I feel lazy if I stay home, or sit inside relaxing.

Yesterday was a bit of a crazy day. My Director was back from her vacation, so things picked up at work again, and the rest of the week, the other girl in my office is gone on training, so it's just me. Yikes. This makes me want to stay home, and cuddle up all night.

Last night, I picked up Garett, we went home, and walked to get the mail. We popped into the park for 10 minutes, and it was looking overcast, so we headed home. Tyler was home early, around 4:30, and so I took the chance to go out and grab some stuff I needed at the store, and pick up stuff for a quick dinner. We played hide and seek with Garett for an insane amount of time (he is obsessed with this game right now), had our baths/showers, and lounged a bit since it was so hot out.

Garett was in bed by about 8:20, and then it started to torrential downpour. The street was starting to flood a bit, since the sewers couldn't keep up with the amount of water, and then it finally tapered off  and we fell asleep.

Looking forward to a cooler temperature day, and hopefully the clouds outside are not as threatening as they look, and I can get out for a nice walk along the canal at lunch time!

Looking forward to a pretty quiet week, and lots of fresh air, and G-time before we are away for another night on Saturday :( Looking forward to LOTS of together time in the coming months. Both as a family, and just me and G alone :)

Hoping everyone has a wonderful hump day!

  1. Love rainy nights...especially listening to the rain on our tin roof...what I don't like, the power going off all night and waking up immediately because the fans all stop!

  2. Walk along the canal?? How far of a walk do you take?! Haha!! I love rainy nights. I didn't hear any at our place though so maybe I passed out as soon as I hit the pillow. But no more mentioning the word winter mmmk? :P

    1. lol, the Ottawa River..it leads to the Canal if you go far enough up ;)
Funny how much the weather changes in 30 minutes of driving. We left Orleans the other day when it was storming, and it was sunny and warm in Embrun still.
