Weekend recap!

This weekend was so busy. And it proved to me I can still be me, apart from being a mommy. We are so blessed to have so many wonderful people willing to help out with the kids when needed. 

I was starting to feel like all ty and I talked about and connected over were the kids, so Friday came at the perfect time. 

Garett had pj and movie day at daycare , then got to play with Amber (and her momma for a bit ), eat some pizza and hang out. He had a blast , as I knew he would, and Keira was find without me--which I knew she would be, but those mommy Senses get tingly when I thought about it beforehand. But I know I'm doing neither of my kids a favour by never letting them have the experience of being with other people. We headed out in our Uber to our dinner reservations at Joeys Lansdowne. It was literally one of the best meals we have ever had. 

The atmosphere is so nice, the servers are so friendly and knowledgable, the food was delicious , and the drinks were creative and yummy! 

Our reservations were for 5:00, and we were enjoying it there so much, we were 10 minutes late for the opening act at the concert that started at 7 lol

We each started with a cocktail. I had a grapefruit and elderberry gin drink. Then tried the sangria. Tyler had a gin martini and an old fashion. 

For apps, we tried the Japanese Gyoza (pork dumplings--with hot mustard and green onion on top, on a bed of chili garlic sauce. OMG)

We also had the new Night Market Curry Dip. Chickpea and coconut milk curry with roasted naan covered in herbs. This was so good Tyler asked for more bread , and I literally ate it like soup with a spoon. 

We ordered a nice bottle of Reisling to split with dinner. 

For our mains, I had a sirloin steak with a mushroom au jus with Shimeji mushrooms , a zucchini medley and their crispy mashed (they put their twice baked mashed in phyllo pastry and cover it in sour cream and chives and bacon--oh my)

Tyler had tataki style steak with rainbow roll sushi rolls. 

So we headed across the street to the Venue. We literally had the best seats in the house. Right on the cusp of the first level , in the centre , right beside where he came over to play piano. We went to see Marianas trench. Shawn hook opened for them. All Canadian. All insanely talented. I got a few videos, but nothing captured Josh's vocal range and insane talent. I always thought their voices and harmonies were computer generated. Nope. They legitimately sound like that. 

We uberedhome after and had a few drinks and a snack before turning in. 

The kids were up bright and early on Saturday. The boys ran to Tyler's store for a while, and when they got home we relaxed for a while until I started getting ready. 

Tyler stayed home with the kids , and I picked up Shannon and headed to East Sides for one of our friends 30th surprise birthday party. We got there early, and she showed up around 6:15. They did a great job planning, because she was so shocked. There were a few tears, so I think that makes it a successful surprise ! ? Lol I had cheese cappelletti and brought Tyler home a meal as well. Garett was in bed when I got home at 8:25, and Keira was in bed 30 mins later. 

Everyone slept in this morning for some reason. Both kids didn't drag their behinds out of bed until 7:30 or so (praise Jesus that the tough to bed or waking in the night was only about a week around the full moon!). 

When we got up I made a fruit salad , some eggs and toast and we ate. The boys went out to check out Tyler's plow route, went to buy some shovels and came home. Immediately I left with g to go to walmart. I bought some more formula and diapers ( fun). G picked out his ornament for the year (he chose a darth vader), I bought Tyler that new book about fantastical beasts or whatever, g got a nerf gun ( ugh. But he is obsessed. At least he's careful with it, I guess) and I bought a new car brush. Which I left at the cash by accident and didn't get to go back. Oops. Earlier in the day, Tyler bought $30 of Kcups at Canadian tire and forgot them in the cart....we lost many things today lol

After that, we made some quesadillas , and Garett fell fast asleep, butt in the air on Keira's playmat for 1.5 hrs and I napped on my lap. It was a quiet afternoon lol. 

Tyler made him and g Kd and wieners for dinner. I had a meat and cheese plate in the bath instead lol. G had his bath , I read him 5 books and he was asleep. K fell asleep 20 mins later. 

Now to relax a bit before bed. Can't wait to see all of the snow in the morning lol
