Long weekend recap

What a nice long weekend!
On Friday, Garett had a PD day for school, so got to go to his program, which he loves going to.
I had an interview at work for another position, and think it went well. I won't find out for 2.5-3 more weeks though, as they round out the end of the interviews. Wish me luck!
The kids played outside once they got home, and we didn't have much indoor time for the remainder of the weekend!
Our friends Rod and Sharon decided to pop in and Sharon and I cooked together-we made a keto cheeseburger casserole and visited. They left around 9:30, so Ty and I watched an episode of Game of Thrones before bed.

Saturday was momma's day out! I started early-leaving the house around 8. I went and got gas, went to the ATM and headed to the EY center around 9 for the Outgrow Outplay sale. I met Shannon there, and I went and picked out a bunch of clothes for Keira for the summer, some stuff for Garett, a few little fun things, and  a new outdoor clock/thermometer because Amazon and Overstock had a big blowout sale.

Afterwards, we grabbed a quick breakfast in Orleans and I headed out from there to get an oil change. I had my eyelash appointment right after that, hit up the Home Outfitters store-closing sale and picked up a few toys and another outdoor rug option. From there, I picked up a quick lunch and headed to my nail appointment. I headed home afterwards and we played outside and put the kids to bed and watched another GoT episode (slow going when we can only watch one episode at a time once the kids go to bed lol)

Sunday, we did some stuff around the house and when Keira went for her nap, Ty and Garett went into town to run some errands and pick up some more wasp spray since we have a lot of them that were living up under the solar panels.
Once Keira woke up, the boys were home, and we went out to have a big fire to burn up the cardboard and more wood. Not too long after we got a good fire going, and found some good marshmallow toasting sticks (they had like 4 marshmallows each), the clouds just opened up and it teemed rain! We ran into the treeline and hid in there to stay dry. Garett was getting cool but didn't want to go inside, so we made a beeline for the garage. We turned on the heat, put on some cartoons, ate some snacks that we had out there and cozied up until the rain subsided. Afterwards, the boys revived the fire (which was  big enough that it didn't go out in all that rain), and Keira and I ran and jumped in puddles for a while! We all went in and gave the kids a warm bath before bed. More GoT ensued.

Monday morning the kids were up around 7, we made them a quick snack and headed into Rockland, as we were going to try and go to the flea market. It was too busy, so we headed into town to have breakfast at Broadway's. Tyler thought the plan was to meet my in-laws at the Tenth Line fair when it opened at 11, so we steered that course. It didn't work out, but we went for opening time anyways, and rode most of the rides VERY quickly, since it just opened there wasn't many people there-no lines! :)

The kids had a BLAST. Keira's favourite was the little kids dragon roller coaster. She screamed LOUDLY with joy the entire time lol. And all of the other rides, she laughed her head off the whole time. Man, sometimes having kids is so hard, but days like that, watching them smile and laugh--so worth it!!

Garett got a cherry snowcone, and while he was doing another round on the rides, Tyler and Keira walked to Tim's and got some timbits and drinks.

When we left the fair, we stopped in at my mother in laws for a bit, Tyler fixed her screen door and pool, and scrubbed the algae up so she could shock it that night. He brought out the stairs to put in later. We headed out to get Keira for her nap.

Once Keira was down, Garett played outside a bit, riding his bike and helping Ty in the garage. I baked some cupcakes (as we cheated on our diet at breakfast, Ty wanted to for the day). We ordered pizza/club sandwich/poutine/cheese sticks for dinner, gorged on that, we each had a cupcake (now there are 8 left and the kids will be happy lol). Baths and bed followed shortly after. We got two episodes of GoT in and called it a night!

Hope you all had a wonderful long weekend :)
