Mothers Day Weekend Recap
As per usual, we had a very low key mothers day weekend.
On Friday, the kids came home from school/daycare and presented me their gifts (flower pots with flowers sprouting, a long stemmed rose, crafts). My favourite craft was a card Garett made that says "Here's a picture of your little chick" and the school printed a photo of each child holding the chicks that hatched in their class. Garett chose "Popcorn" to take his photo with:
That evening, we grabbed some burgers and headed over to TJ and Jami's house. We were meeting with Bill and Donna (other neighbours) and their son Joshua, who will be babysitting the three kids for a bit this summer in lieu of summer camp. They got along famously! In fact, we went home and put the kids to bed and had him come over so we could go out with his parents.
We headed to the Heart and Crown on Preston Street to see "Roadhouse" around 9:00 and stayed until 1:00. Great tunes, great company. Another man from Tyler's disco band and his trumpet understudy came out to join us as well.
In bed around 1:45 by the time we got home and sorted out with Josh. This was probably a bad idea since you know the kids wake up around 7:00.
Once they got up, I fed them a quick breakfast and Tyler headed out to Comic Con. I loaded up the kids and headed to SPLAT! Children's Art Studio at the St. Laurent Mall. It was GREAT! There was only one other child there, so the kids had free reign over all of the stuff! I think their prices are a bit steep (at $20 per kid), but it was fun!
When we finished up there it was around 12:30, so we popped into Toys R Us and the kids each picked some stuff out. Keira picked an Ariel doll, some princess shoes, and a Paw Patrol watercolour paint book. Garett picked a bunch of Might Bean containers full of beans and some gum thing.
We headed home for Keira's nap, and as G and I were reading, a bird SLAMMED into my front living room window. Tyler pulled into the driveway no more than a minute later. The bird was laying on it's back, struggling to breathe. Tyler picked him up and nursed him back to health and took him and put him on a branch. Garett was very curious (only Tyler was allowed to touch the bird, because : Ew), and we checked on birdie later, and he had flown away :)
We relaxed the rest of the evening; went in the hot tub, watched a movie, etc.
We had really random supper because we all were on different eating schedules on Sunday lol. I went in the hot tub, took a shower and then we watched some of "The Dark Tourist" show in bed.
Monday Morning I dropped Garett off at Before School daycare, and took Keira to meet the daycare center in Garett's school and hand in all of our paperwork. I gave our provider the heads up that we may be switching her over this summer :( I haven't confirmed, and I need to do that still. Her last day will be June 27. I didn't want to put too much on our providers plate though since her sons overflowed two/four toilets in their house. They were overflowing all night, so there's some damage and they have the commercial fans running 24/7. So I'll wait until maybe tomorrow to tell her.
I ordered the end of the year teacher gifts, and our "thank you" parting gift for our daycare provider. So I feel like I'm back on top of the ball. Also, Saturday is my day out , so I am going to head to the Outgrow Outplay sale, then go get my eyelashes done, and go get a manicure :)
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend, and enjoy your week!
