Back to the grind!
That long weekend went WAY too fast (and that's an understatement!).
Friday, I drove home from work and relaxed for a while on the couch after a crazy long day (long week, actually lol). Ate some dinner and finally made my way upstairs to make more pie crust and make my pumpkin pie! Went to bed at like midnight, which is crazy since we had to be up early to get to Cornwall. But, with the rain in the morning on Saturday, we lounged around a bit longer than expected.
We headed out of town around 9:30 and had to stop in at my aunt and uncles for Tyler to finish up my uncles new garage floor. We headed to my parents house and the boys immediately left for golf.
Mom finished off getting all the trimmings ready and the boys finally managed to get home around 5:20 with the baby furniture in the back of the truck (thankfully they managed to get it before too late that day). The rest of my family (my two aunts and uncles, my cousin and her husband and two kids) arrived and we ate almost right away! The moment of truth for me was dessert time when people were tasting my pies..I always get nervous when people try things I don't make very often, but everyone loved them (phew!). I was especially worried about the apple pie since I used green apples (which I NEVER have done before) but people absolutely loved it...my aunt wouldn't stop raving about it even after I was gone I guess..so glad that worked out :)
We headed home that night around 8 and got home and went to bed very shortly after!
Sunday, we slept in a bit (until around 8:30) and laid in bed watching a movie on tv until around 10. We got up and I showered and everything and we decided to take a small nap for whatever reason...small nap turned into 3 hours--we slept until almost 3:00! lol We must have been more tired than we thought lol. When we woke up, we loaded ourselves into the truck and picked up Ty's sister on the way in to his moms house.
About half the Mccann aunts/uncles came over for dinner and it was a good night :) We stayed until around 8 that night too I think and headed out--stopped at Timmie's on the way home and vegged out for the rest of the night when we got home.
Monday morning we woke up early totally refreshed and felt like keeners--so it was a fall organizing/cleaning day we decided--Ty went out and cut the grass and bagged up all the leaves and pressure washed the deck and covered all the patio furniture up for the winter. I was inside going through drawers (specifically our junk drawers--yuck!) and cupboards..then swept and mopped and caught up on a bit of laundry. My parents ended up coming by to help Ty bring in the furniture and winded up staying to put it together for us (at my request lol) :) We also got the wall decal up over the crib--I am SO happy the room is shaping up :) I love it in there--once I have my glider, I will be in that room constantly lol.
Once that was all done it was about 6pm and they headed out--leaving behind the water cooler that we had originally said to take back LOL--we always do that--have one thing in mind and then totally forget the main reason for coming! haha..oops :) oh well! It's in the garage now--I just wanted it out of that corner so once I get the highchair, it has a spot in a corner out of the way of the main flow of kitchen traffic :)..I'll get it to them soon enough! lol
Once they left, I watched some old episodes of Keeping up with the Kardashians, folded some laundry and went upstairs and ate some late dinner before bed (I sleep so much sounder now when I go to sleep on a full stomach--this used to give me HORRIBLE nightmares before I was pregnant and now it's all I can do so I dont want up at 2 am starving lol).
This morning Ty and I both woke up to lovely raw throats, completely clogged up sinuses and both snored through the whole night because of it! I chugged a glass of OJ before leaving the house and made a white hot chocolate to go for the bus (felt SO good on my sore throat :)).
I got here a bit early and am just overloading on fruit and water this morning in hopes my body will fend off the cold. So far, so good! My throat is feeling much better and my sinuses are starting to clear up :) I have a pretty strong immune system, so here's hoping it can fight off this measley cold too!
Anyways--not much else is new! I hope everyone had a relaxing long weekend filled with family, laughter, food and relaxing!! Bring on the 4 day week :) Next week I am working 9-5 hours (aside from weds when I leave early for a doctors appointment) so I'll probably have lots to say about that LOL.
Happy Tuesday everyone :)
