Doobie Brothers!

Yesterday was pretty uneventful until Ty got home--we got ready, packed up and headed into town to grab our tickets before heading to Jazzfest at Confederation Park downtown. We found a parking spot quite a few blocks away on purpose so we could walk around together a bit, grab a quick bite and enjoy the energy of downtown a bit before heading to the show (we love downtown on summer nights).

We got to cross another thing off Ty's bucket list last night by seeing the Doobie Brothers in concert. They're getting older, so we knew if we missed the chance to see them then, we probably wouldn't get another chance, so we sucked up the 9pm start time and just did it.

When we got there, we realised everyone was sitting in lawn chairs, and Ty had decided we didn't need to bring ours, so we found a vendor that was renting them out! lol

The show was fantastic! There was quite a few songs we had both never heard of from some of their newer albums, but ALL of the songs were great! These guys are machines. The harmonies they sing effortlessly is unbelievable. It literally sounds like everything they sang would make it right onto an album in the first shot. I really enjoyed it, and I am glad we didn't pass up that opportunity :) Apparently Ty's aunt went backstage and met a few of them after the show--now I feel bad that we didn't try harder to find her in the crowd lol

When we got home, the little man was already in bed. It was his first night sleeping in his crib in his own room, and let me assure you, last night was WAY harder on me. He started tossing and  turning a bit (which I heard everything because the monitors are turned up ALL the way lol) around 4am so I took it upon myself to go in and give him a bottle--which he drank but slept the entire time he drank it lol--and went back down until shortly after 7. Good boy :) I thought his first night in there would be less than his usual 9-10 hour sleep, but I guess not! I think he enjoyed the freedom to move around more actually. Now, I just have to get used to him being next door and not right next to me :( My boy is growing so fast.

We had a busy morning of playing, so he is down for a nap now, I grabbed some breakfast and will likely just do some laundry! I hope everyone has a great Thursday :)
