Weekend Recap
Our household survived a flu.
I can't remember if I have ever even had the flu before. But a fever (on an off chills and sweats), mixed with a nice chesty cough, gagging, curling up in a ball in a moaning ball of non-movement for three days was just about as much as I could take--then Tyler got it. He's on the tail end of it now, thank God. Because the only thing worse than a sick woman is a sick man. G narrowly escaped.
Friday afternoon I was starting to feel more like myself after having been off for most of the week. The doctor wrote me a note on Thursday to tell me to stay home on Friday and take it easy. It turns out this was a blessing in disguise, because I really wanted to give the house a good cleaning. I'm talking scrub the baseboards, clean the door frames, light switches and insides of the garbage cans. I wanted that thorough cleaning to get done to get rid of the germs once and for all! Done and done!
We didn't do much this weekend--Friday night was spent relaxing, Saturday Ty went into work for a bit, bought G his birthday gift, I went to the grocery store for a few things ,etc--all in all, still a pretty lazy day.
Sunday we all lounged around until about 10, when I started making dinner--we had Ty's family over to celebrate birthdays before my in-laws take off to Florida or a month. I made my chicken pot pie filling, put it in the dishes and put the pastry dough on it, and stuck it all in the fridge for a while until it was ready to cook. We had ice cream cake for dessert. yum!
Everyone was gone before too long, and G was so tired from all the running around (he gets very hyper and puts on a show when there's a crowd--so his birthday should be interesting). He was in bed by 7:15. At 7:10 he stood up, brought me his blankie and backed up into me, laid his head back on my shoulder and said "sleeps"...ok buddy, I get you're pooped haha...he slept and slept. I'm sure he's up now and heading to daycare though :)
I have so many things to cross off of my to-do list this week for G's party on Saturday, I don't even want to face the week right now, but here we are anyways. Because no 2 year old party waits for mommy's to be "ready" lol...
Hope you all had a great weekend :)
