To the husbands that wonder where money goes...
My husband is pretty understanding about my shopping habits. As long as I don't flaunt my endless purchases in his face, he doesn't really care. It also helps when I don't have stuff being delivered in giant boxes everyday. When he has a relationship with the UPS guy, he starts questioning me lol.
Luckily, I have a husband who has come around to appreciate the finer things in life, and appreciates the décor I buy, the nice clothes we all wear, and the thoughtful "just because" gifts I splurge on.
With that said, here are a few of the places that I (and not only this lady typing) spends too much money at, that would make my husband go "WHAT?! HOW MUCH? WHY?"
1) Bath and body works. This is a huge culprit. I can't help myself. I need ALL of the smells, in ALL of the forms (hand soap, body wash, body spray, room spray, diffusers, plug ins, lotions, candles, etc). I spend WAY too much money on unsubstantial stuff in this store. Tyler appreciates the aromatherapy bubble baths I buy--and they go FAST in our house--and at $20 a bottle, he must know that each time he squeezes that bottle dry, I need to make another haul. Sorry not sorry.
2) Bed, Bath and Beyond. I go to this place when I want to buy something random. Either for the house, for G, or for myself. It's full of knick knacky cool things, and practical home décor that I love and can switch out without feeling bad that I paid too much for it.
3) Toys R Us. We won't even go here. This one upsets my husband. All I can say is I can't stop, you guys. It's a problem. Luckily, I have gotten good enough at the one in, one out thing that it keeps my husbands annoyance at a minimum. phew.
4) The grocery store. I don't know what is wrong with me. I go crazy in grocery stores. I can't get my grocery bill under $240 to save my life. I just get so excited going up and down the aisles and imagining all the meals and snacks and funky new products I just HAVE to have, and HAVE to find a way to incorporate. It's like my own personal Iron Chef: America at home. And it's even worse when I know we will be entertaining at any point before I get back to the grocery store. God, the economy must LOVE me.
5) Winners. Seriously, do not even let me near the doors of this place. It's like I lose all logical brain processing abilities as soon as I walk in. Winners: just take my money (that should be their new motto). Between clothing and accessories for me, cool brands for G-dude, amazing prices on good clothes for Ty, house stuff, beauty products and EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE WORLD. Winners gets me excited. Thank god they don't have a shop online option because I think I would have the coolest box on homeless broke people alley to live out of.
What places do you spend so much money at that makes people question if you won the lottery? I can't be alone in this! lol

I'm the same at Bath and Body Works and the grocery store. I lose control! But I hate Winners, I haven't found anything in there that I like or if I do like it, it's not in my size so I just stopped going in :(
ReplyDeleteShan, it's separated by sizes, so you only look at the section that's your size, silly girl! lol
DeleteThey have the BEST brand selection and better prices than Marshall's or equivalent. Love their selection of toys/books/name brand clothes for G, for myself (purses, wallets, sunglasses, shoes, etc), cheaper than salons for good shampoos and lotions/cosmetics, and I can get Ty clothes there that I would normally have to pay like $80 a pair of jeans for like $45! You should totally give it another shot :)
did you know that the old zellers downtown on O'Connor is going to a winners...opening Sept 17th
ReplyDeleteseriously!? Thank god they moved us to Vanier Towers and I'm no longer in the downtown core! lol dodged a bullet there! lol
