Ok, so I haven't posted in a few days and I guess it's time to get back on the horse!
Things at work have been crazy hectic! I must say I like when it's busy because it passes my day by a little faster, but at the same time I do like having some "me" time during the day to clean up the mess that at some point during the morning has formed on my desk, get a drink of water, go to the washroom, go for lunch, etc...I guess I shouldn't complain, things get so slow during the summer that winter time is almost like a bit of a treat :)
Today's the big day at the homestead! The well guy is coming for 10 AM and by the time I get home from work I will have functioning, drinkable water!! :) :) My dad was going to the house to be there for the work as both Tyler and I have to be at work today. My parents also came yesterday (dad left in the middle of closing their pool because Ty needed help) to drywall the washroom and they did the piping for the new shower heads, faucets, etc and starting to retile the shower (they had to smash some down when they took the old tub out). The bathroom will be done before we know it and then we can close in the basement ceiling as soon as all the plumbing is done! (It's torn out in a small square--not the whole ceiling lol). Carpet goes in sometime next week! THen we can paint and move in the rest of the basement stuff and I can stop living in a warzone! It is SO hard to get ready in the morning there when there is junk laying around everywhere--super annoying!! No wonder I'm in such a crusty mood lately. And I will not apologize for it because it seems like the second I get things alittle more organized and in order, a certain man is right there behind me making 8 times bigger of a mess (which , I know, is to be expected during renos--but still--clean up after yourself as you go).
So tonight, since we will now have water, I can actually cook a nice meal (unless my kitchen is still a disaster when I get there and I probably won't :) lol) and actually have water to do dishes!! I am dyinngggg to use my beautiful new Kenmore pots and pans and Kitchen Aid casserole dishes and my beautiful true convection oven..blah blah blah...I miss cooking and baking is the moral of this story. It has been a long haul of going on 4 weeks without water in this house!!! Felt like I would never get to cook in my new home :( So I am very excited!
The bus rides in have generally been taking about an hour (sometimes longer), but the last two days have been pretty quick with the construction starting to die down! I think we made it in in about 43 minutes this morning! I like that! :) Plus, time goes a little faster when you have a friend to visit with all the way in and back!! I am so thankful to have found such a good friend in my sister-in-law :) I think it's pretty rare for in-laws to be this close and as many, many years go on our bond will just get stronger:) So looking forward to it!
On the way home from work last night, I discovered a local BBQ joint in Carlsbad Springs (1 417 exit up from ours) is having the Food Network visit. I am not sure if they are a filming a show, what time they're coming, who's coming or what but they're coming on Oct 29-30. I want to go so bad! Hope I'm around one of those days long enough to go and check it out!!! Must say I am a little star struck by people on the food network more then actual celebrities--is that odd? lol
Anyways--here we are again, facing another hump day, so look up everyone! You can see the light at the end of the tunnel from here :)
Enjoy your day!!
