BBQ season in full effect
There are not words to describe my deep love for BBQ cookin'.
Yesterday was a pretty early day for Ty, and he brought one of his employees home to help him around the yard, clean out the trailers, etc, so I put some new jerk spice rub on some chicken breasts (amazing stuff--like a spicier version of Swiss chalet chicken mmm), did up some green beans and some BBQ'd taters in foil. Yum! Summer cooking is so easy! I don't particularly love when my house smells like food (I'm aware this may make me a weirdo) but I would rather it smell like a fresh scent (also aware it usually smells like baby now lol). It's great when you're cooking it for it to smell up the house, but I hate nothing more then walking into someone's house (especially my own ) and it smells like a random stale scent of dinners past. Yuck. So long story short, summer is perfect for me with the BBQ being outside! Haha
Garett and I hung outside for a bit yesterday , so neighbours came over to check out the patio and we walked around a bit. It was beautiful out-- not too muggy for once!
So after dinner I decided to plug in our new H2O mop to test it out on the living room carpet. Of course, straight out of the box it doesn't work. So back to the store it goes--never even got to use it once. We will buy a better one when we go back--im a slave for TV infomercials and I will always grab a product I saw on one of these stupid programs before a reputable name brand. Idiot, Amy. Lesson:learned.
Did I mention the employee that came over last night just got his own place? This would not normally be overly exciting news to me but we had a bunch of stuff to get rid of and I am so happy he needed lots! Our basement is much neater looking without it being crowded with a bunch of stuff we don't use! We got rid of a tall bistro set of table and chairs that we literally never sat in from day 1, two huge glass and stainless steel shelves for TV accessories we no longer use, a microwave stand we had random stuff shoved in in the furnace room that I literally used for 2 months before we moved out of the last place lol, some wooden shelves, etc. I love the space now :)
I am currently begging my hubby to get on the same page as me with carpeting our upstairs living room. The rest of the upstairs is nice tiles and real hardwood but this stupid room is fake hardwood and its the ugliest thing I ever laid my eyes on. Not to mention the hole in the floor the last owner put in to wire his projector up, which is impossible to match up and fix. I would like the carpet since this room will be more of Garett's play area then anywhere else and carpet is softer (duh). Ty is not so keen on the idea :( He is more on board with the idea of selling and moving to a bigger house--which I do agree on, but the idea of moving (packing and unpacking and redecorating and renovating) to a new place with a baby is not high up on my wish list currently lol. It's a never ending tug-o-war about weighing out the pros /cons over here. Sighs
Today will be filled with changing all the beds, cleaning the bathroom floor, laundry galore, going online to buy tickets for our date on Sunday, getting dinner prepped, playing and cuddles :) I have some filing to catch up on too but I may not get around to it ;) We wanted to get to the docs today for Garett's second shots but the nurse isn't in so we are booked in next Tuesday for his shots and a checkup :)
Garett is at the stage he thinks throwing things onto the ground for me to pick them up is hilarious. I put extra toys on his exersaucer (I feel he gets sick of the same ones on it all the time), and he just looks over at me and tosses them over and jumps around giggling knowing I will go over and pick them up...oh boy. Lol
Anyways, not much new on this end!:) hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday and that this week isn't going too slowly for all of you at work :)! Have a good one!
