So long, July!
What a crazy month this has been! August will be even more packed with adventures and memories though, so bring it on!
With all the reorganization I am/ have been doing in the house, all the extra appliances are being moved. It was shocking seeing them all out! I am obviously keeping the normal stuff (stand mixer, toaster, can opener, coffee machines, etc) upstairs, but the rest will get put on shelves and such in the basement so I can just grab them when I need them. It is amazing the things you accumulate ! Seen here: food processor, deep fryer, toaster oven, chocolate fountain, mini cupcake maker, blender, stone grill, crock pot (don't use this much in the summer but will get moved back up in the cool weather), and I still have THREE fondue things to add to this when I can get up in that cupboard they are in! Insanity. But I already feel less suffocated with stuff, which is good!!
Garett woke up from a nap yesterday, so I put him in the bouncer while I did some banking online. He wanted out to play, but instead of crying, he was just kind of pouting quietly. I looked up from my iPad to see this insanely cute puppy dog look on his face just staring up on me....I am done for.
Ty got home at a decent hour last night too (yay for the early days he has been getting for himself!) and he took Garett to watch so I could clean one more cupboard for the day, do some dishes/bottles and make dinner.
We have been on a huge turkey kick lately because it is so light for the summer and can take on any taste, so I made an Asian style stir fry with peppers, mushrooms, onion, turkey strips and rice noodles in an Asian style sauce I found a recipe for on Pinterest (yep, thank god for Pinterest ! Lol). It was pretty darn tasty! I don't usually save leftovers of things because they don't always get eaten now that I'm at home, but I will actually eat this for my lunch today! :)
Garett barely (when I say barely, please note that I mean that!) napped yesterday, so by 7pm he was done for, and grouch monster stayed up until 8:15 before I put him to bed. Have you ever tried to calm an over tired baby? If not, let me tell you, it's not rainbows and kittens. You know how when we are overtired, we fall asleep the second our heads hit the pillow ? Well, when do THAT start happening ? Because his head wouldn't stay down. *sigh. Anyways, around 11 he stayed down and passed right out, poor guy. At least he slept until 9 am.
We each took a hot relaxing bath last night after dinner, and I did some online shopping in the bath :) now that's pure heaven! Lol
Nothing too new on the go today over here, but I hope you all enjoy your hump day :) it's another beautiful day!!
