6 Day countdown

I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't waiiiit to wake up Christmas morning and finally let Garett rip open the gifts he's been trying to sneak open for the last week. But if his method of opening gifts doesn't change, we will certainly be here all day. He's going to need some mommy guidance on how to rip open large amounts of gifts. This year is a write off--everyone went way overboard on gifts for him, and that will not be happening in the future. No 1-whatever age year old needs 60 gifts to open at christmas, it's excessive and will ruin him.His 25 year old self will thank me :)

On a side note: Why the hell does everything that requires noise need to be done while G is napping? He's used to noise, but I mean seriously? Why? Garbage truck, recycling truck, oh, don't forget the snow plow. Tyler, who is a hippo in the kitchen trying to cook eggs (how did that dirty two pans, three dishes and two pieces of cutlery??? Lol *slight exaggeration*). Cats running around like psychos, purolator ringing the doorbell twice by accident, rogers calling the home phone...all of it in a matter of the hour. It's enough to make me yank out my hair.

I need groceries, I need to go out of town before Christmas to pick up the last gift to buy, I need to clean/organize, I need to bake, I need to finish wrapping. Oh and PS it'll be a son of a gun to get it done because Mother Nature decided a possible ice storm (but 25cm of snow at least) would be a fun thing to throw in the mix as well. Good thing I have a sense of humour and like a challenge.

I started to watch The Host this morning but stopped it. I hadn't anticipated it would be so good, so I wanted to save it for when I can really focus on it and not watching out of the corner of my eye and catching every 6th word.

Slowly getting rid of the baby stuff we are done with /never used. I'm keeping his clothes and some things that are expensive to replace, but the bumbo, a high chair we never used, his two bouncers, stage 1 car seat, etc--those things an gladly go so I have some room to breathe. It feels suffocating when you hold onto it all--you run out of room fast trying to hoard everything because of memories.

How many times can one go out shopping, buy something for themselves and say "merry Christmas to me?"... I get into this habit every year lol.

Yesterday, we went and picked up some stuff /did errands and brought my boy to visit Santa. Good thing there were no other believers there because Garett yanked on that beard, warranting a "Ho,Ho,hold it there little fella" and Santa readjusting his facial hair. When Tyler, myself and the girl taking pictures all managed to get him to pry his eyes off Santa, she captured a few stoic images lolol. He's more of an observer around new surroundings, as you see lol...but he didn't cry, which is a plus! :) we bought our pics/USB stick and hightailed it out of there picking pieces of beard hair out of Garett's fingers lol...just kidding, it wasn't that bad, he just tugged, didn't rip :)

Anywho, we came home shortly after and relaxed for the rest of the day :)

hope you all have a wonderful day!:) almost there (to the end of the week).
