Resolutions

With Christmas approaching and NEw Years not far behind, the wheels in my brain have been turning..

You know what...every year I don't make resolutions because I can't think of anything to change that I would even stick with (why set yourself up for failure ?). I am a strong believer that you cannot make someone change until they are ready. With Garett here, I feel the need and desire to make some changes. Here are the things I want to see change coming into 2014:

1)a healthier lifestyle. Tyler and I have discussed, and while we eat homemade meals the majority of the time, they are not necessarily healthy. We have gotten the name of a wonderful nutritionist who offers daily or weekly guidance/advice/recipes, etc and will be visiting him in the new year (well, more like right after being gluttons at Christmas ). Garett deserves to have parents that are the healthiest they can be, so we can always be there and keeping up when he wants to play outside, or to see him graduate, get married, change the world. 2014 will see a big waistline change and mentality change around meal time for this household.

2) To be super mom/superwoman /superwife. I know with the changes #1 will bring, I will have more energy. While I know I am a very attentive person in most aspects of life, I hope to maintain my ability to balance being a mommy with being a wife--sometimes these things can be done in unison, and sometimes you need to set time aside specifically for child or specifically for husband to keep the spark alive--by going out and doing things together (sickos). Ideally, this is where I say this year will bring me quitting my job and pursuing business ventures I have in mind or being a stay at home mom--but since I owe work a year, this one will have to wait.

3) We hope to welcome possibly another addition, or looking forward to the anticipation of another addition to our family (yes, folk, we want another..and sooner rather than later). 2014 may not hold another baby or pregnancy for us, but possibly:)

4) To move. We want a bigger house. We enjoy this home because it allows us to also save money, but it's just not big enough for us and our growing family (or our abundance of stuff). We may stay here another year or so, but here's hoping the house situation changes soonish. (Now we just have to make sure it's close to the babysitter, close to schools, etc)

5) get into a competition at work. While I don't mind administrative things (it satisfies the OCD side of me), I would like a change of pace.

So folks, you see the 5 things I want from this coming year. It's a hefty 5 things, but it can definitely be done--with a lot of motivation/determination and support, we will get there :)
