Christmas time recap

Well, it is over folks. Christmas 2013 down the hatch and New Years on the horizon!

This year was so different for us. We had decided to change our routine a bit to fit better with Garett. We did my in laws Christmas on the 23rd, then headed home. We opened all Garett's gifts on Christmas Eve (from us) and had decided not to go to the annual Christmas Eve get together at Ty's aunts house, but after we finished the gifts, we had time to kill and Garett was still wide awake, so we headed in for a bit. It was nice to see everyone :) 

Christmas morning we woke up and headed to my parents house for an early dinner and opened gifts before we stayed the night. 

Boxing Day we were supposed to go to Ty's uncles but we were sick of driving and lugging Garett around and just wanted to stay home, so we just relaxed instead!

It was such a nice Christmas. We got to see almost everyone and aren't too tired as a result, which is nice!

The last few days we are on a cleaning spree. Making a riddance of things and cleaning all the nooks and crannies of the house, which feels good !

Yesterday I tried out my new Dutch oven and made some potato bacon soup and Ty will eat leftovers for a few snacks and meals lol. It turned out way better than last time I made it without my Dutch oven!! Yummy. 

I rearranged the living room and am trying to get the basement organized. I put away some of G's new toys that are still a bit "beyond" him. I also don't have room to take out everything he got lol.

Now we are trying to get ready for our small get together on New Years --just a few friends. We have a confirmed 7 adults and a few kiddos, anyone that hasn't given us a solid yes by now is considered a no :) We will have a great time and happy to not have a crowded house so G can sleep normally! And SO much better than when Ty played gigs...I mean who wouldn't rather be in a cozy joke than a bar surrounded by strangers , right ?!

Then just a few last minute things to get for G's party, which is just going to be his family and godparents, so another nice small gathering :) 

This Monday coming is my last one if Mat leave ...back to reality soon!:)

Life Lately

-Hosting Bearbrook Ladies night two weekends ago was wonderful! I put out a full charcuterie spread, made a mint/cranberry/grapefruit drink to share, and all of us received a tarot card reading, palm read and a facial read. Pretty much the reoccurring consensus between all three reads (it was two different people doing it) was that my heart and mind live in a state of conflict, but that it works for me to live in a state of balance. -Garett went on his first friend play date ever , and he had so much fun. It was his two best friends that left daycare to start school last year. -happy that while Garett was at his play date, Tyler was home with Keira and I went out for a bit alone, then came home and we finished The Belko Experiment movie before I went to get him. (He was there for two hours) -sad that this week, Garett only has four days left at daycare :( Friday is Keira's first day, while I keep g home with me. Can't believe it's already almost school time!! -as a "goodbye" gift from g, we bought his daycare provider a necklace from peoples that is a heart with some Garnet stones in it (Garett's birthstone), to remember him by, and I ordered an Aukey essential oils diffuser , a doTERRA starter kit and an essential oils mixing guide recipe book thing. Friday fun!

Thank God it's Friday, and that this week is O-V-E-R!!! -It was a stressful week at home. Looking forward to a fun weekend! -I am being audited for child care expenses in 2018--I'm not the only one that thinks we pay too much money in child care! LOL...I submitted my receipts online (they are catching up with the times and it's great!) and turns out I actually underclaimed by a few hundred dollars haha. -Tonight is calm, just hanging at home with the kids. -Saturday I have an eyelash appointment at 2:00, and then we have a sitter coming at 6:00 so we can go to a Wine & Cheese night up the road at our friends house. -Sunday is a day of rest until the evening when Shan comes over and we head into town to go to the Trailer Park Boys Christmas at the NAC (I bought Tyler and I tickets as an early Christmas gift).
