No Voice Thursday
Well, it's been a few days coming. Forcing my voice when it was already feeling weak. I won't be the life of the party today, that's for sure. You can barely hear my voice when I talk. I hate when this happens...it's like girls weekend when I lost my voice a day into the trip and couldn't talk the rest of the time-- SUCKS. This girl LOVES talking. (obviously #Ishouldjustshutup)
While I overdose on cough drops trying to get my throat soothed, I am basing how the rest of my day goes : If I get my voice back vs. if I don't.
If I get my voice back, there is a lunch that one of the teams are having here that I really do want to go to--but they are fun and loud people, and if I can't talk...well...that's just torturous then! They are heading out at 1:00 for the afternoon to a place in Little Italy that Ty and I frequent. :(
If I don't get my voice back, I will head out a little early to grab groceries...oh joy. But in all seriousness, we need them. There's tons of food in the cupboards but I need to round it out so we can actually make meals, and I need eggs in case the mood to bake strikes.
Last night, G had an hour nap when we got home (which I am not liking this new routine of a nap when we get home--it derails our normal schedule! lol), so I put away some laundry, cleaned the kitchen and ordered some of his party decorations and his cake. Ty got home almost as soon as I put G down, so I went out to the store to grab a chicken and some salads (and a few random things we needed), ate and made some salt dough. When G got up, we all ate, watched some tv, played and then we decided we all wanted a hot bath, so we took turns running our baths (me first, obviously :)), then Ty, so I took G down to paint another picture (this boy sure does love paint. You will regret ever saying the word "Paint" around him if you don't have any), and do a hand print and a foot print salt dough ornament. We didn't have an hour left before bed to keep the oven on to bake, so I left them to air dry overnight and we will paint them this evening :)
Afterwards, Garett obviously had a long bath followed by running around for 20 minutes, followed by bed. Usually he doesn't nap when he gets home, so he's in bed by around 8, but these last few days when he naps after I pick him up, it's a 9pm bedtime...which is fine...but we love a few hours of quiet time before bed.
We watched the hockey game and then The Sing-Off (or the last little bit at least), then neither of us could get to sleep so Ty went to his computer to input some receipts and I looked at more decorating ideas for work and for G's birthday....until about 12...which is STUPID of me. My alarm goes off shortly before 6, and am up and out of bed by 6.....6 hours of sleep is not and never was enough sleep for me. I feel G knew this fact from the moment he was born, and adopted my love (and Tyler's love lol) of sleep.
I am pretty excited for lunch tomorrow--we are having a Divisional get-together just in our big boardroom, with some games and are ordering in Lonestar fajitas/nachos/salsa. Should be a fun afternoon :)
I am trying to decide if I am going out dancing on Friday night for Ty's cousin's 40th birthday. Not sure if I have the energy to end the week like that this week--and I am missing another of his cousins 30th birthday on Saturday, but Ty will be going to the daytime events and coming home. We really need to just hunker down and relax alone at home this weekend, I think. Especially with the craziness that Christmas brings--all the driving around and late nights.
Aside from that, not much is going on!! Hope everyone is taking the time to count their blessings and enjoy this beautiful holiday season ! :)
