Garett's Second Birthday Party-- Caillou Style
If you are the mother to, well, any child, you know about Caillou. I am not quite sure what the grand appeal is, but Garett is OBSESSED with this show. So, I knew that it would be the theme for his party this year. What they don't tell you (before deciding to do this as the theme), is that since Caillou is an older show, and is all re-runs, it's IMPOSSIBLE to get anything Caillou party related. I loaded up my cart on the PBS site, paid and all. A day later, I get an email saying EVERYTHING I ordered was out of stock and not being brought back...everything except for a tshirt I ordered personalized (and then paid more in shipping than the shirt was worth). Great...now what do I do? There was literally only one other site I could find anywhere that had Caillou decor--so if you're looking, save yourself the heart ache and just go right to Birthday Express.
I ordered these coloured paper balls from Party City.
Centerpieces and place mats (placemats flip over and are activity/colouring pages)
Noise makers
Foil Balloons
Station: Plates, napkins, cutlery, cups, straws and punch
Caillou trucker hat and favour boxes
Caillou cookies from La Boulangerie du Village
Opening presents :)
The cake
Blowing out the candles
A wonderful birthday was had. We are enjoying the early birthdays--the calm before the storm--before he starts school and every kid and their dog come and take over the house for the day hah. Garett had a wonderful day; we are all so blessed :)
And with that, I leave you with some random pictures from sledding last night. It was pretty chilly out, so it only lasted about 10 minutes, but he had a blast. I can't wait for it to stop being -35 so we can enjoy more outside play time--this kid loves the outdoors!
