Playing Catch-up for the week

- We had tacos for dinner last night. I didn't realise that I bought only the shells and not the full dinner kit (I don't pay enough attention when I shop for groceries), so I made my own taco seasoning, and it was actually better than the box stuff--now I wish I could remember everything I threw into it so I could just continue to do that! - I went through a few boxes of Garett's clothes last night. I didn't realise how much of it I actually kept, and how much space it was taking up in the garage (not to mention the couple of rubber maids in the basement full also). I went through and kept what I wanted and the rest we are getting rid of--I will want new stuff for the next baby as well, so just keeping what means something sentimentally to me, and the things that I know I will use again (those onesies with the zippers up the front for sure, and the ones with the fold over mitts!!). - I also didn't realise I had an entire box of empty picture frames. My favourite kind of day

Some days I feel like I have it all figured out. Things just groove so well with the flow of everyday life. Those are my favourite days. I do feel like there are many more exciting days to look forward to(date days, events, doing more typically "fun" things), but there is something to be said for a perfect normal day! Some days I wake up before my alarm, and feel rejuvenated. I have an outfit that is comfortable but stylish, my hair and makeup are cooperating, I don't have to stop anywhere in the morning (for gas, or daycare), traffic is running smoothly, I am a rockstar at work and on top of everything. I eat a healthy breakfast and lunch and already have plans for dinner, I play outside with Garett and do stuff with him that he likes, I have a nice homemade dessert created for us after the kitchen is tidy from dinner. Bath time goes smoothly, the toys are picked up, Garett is in bed by 8:30 and I have time to catch up on checking my social media (Facebook, Pinterest)...

29 before 29 monthly recap!

Update: -          Spend an entire day being pampered : I completed this on March 15 when I went for a mani, lunch and a pedi. I think this is as close to a full day of pampering I will get due to time restraints. -          Attend at least one festival during festival season  -          Watch an outdoor concert (these are my favourite) :   -          Go to the drive in -          Read 10 books  So far only 2-halfway through 3 -          Cook 1 meal totally outside my comfort zone : completed on February 14. I made a meal of all new recipes I generally wouldn't make. Welsh rarebit (with my own spin), homemade crab cakes with a spicy aioli (yum), beef Wellingto...

Weekend Recap

This was seriously the busiest "lazy weekend" ever. People wonder why we are always up and around doing things on weekends? Because it's more relaxing then being at home haha..The stuff needs to get done at home, but when you were looking forward to doing nothing, it seemed like a lot! Friday I was off with Garett, we did the usual at home stuff--playing, went for a wagon ride, played at the park. The power was off for an hour or two for a lot of the area, so we headed out to G's favourite place (the grocery store), and went up the road to Russell to that primitive design store I talked about. We stopped at DQ for some lunch and ate in the car. The power was on by the time we got home, so I did some laundry. I tried to clean up the toy situation, but it just wasn't working. We packed up a bunch of clothes and brought them to the drop off bin as well. Slowly thinning things out :) Ty had estimates until 6 that night so was a little late getting home. We had a qui...
