Things I want to do in Summer 2015

With the overcast, cold, rainy (and maybe snowy) days this week, I find myself longing for wearing short sleeves and dresses to work, for driving with the windows down, and for all of the events that come with summer!

Here is what I want to do this summer (and aiming to get as much done as possible!)

-First event to kick off my summer season will be girls weekend! We are aiming for the first weekend in June! Garett and Ty will get a night or two of much needed father/son time, and mommy will get a break with her ladies! Food and wine and tanning and sleeping in. Can't wait.

- Since I have never been to the drive in, and since Garett likes to watch movies now, I think it would be cute to hit up the drive-in this summer :) Grab some snacks and cuddle up and watch a movie--if we don't make it through the whole thing, whatever! Definitely an ice cream on the way home type of event!

- I want to take Garett to the children's museum the last week of July, when we are off together while daycare is closed :) There's lots of fun interactive things, and he is just a little sponge of knowledge now, so I think this would be a good place to take him and spend an afternoon :)

- Go for walks on the paths by our house. It is so beautiful in there, and lots of place for Garett to run around when he wants to take a break from his stroller.

- Get some more family pictures done. Maybe this time he will be more cooperative to pose haha (not likely. Though he likes to yell "CHEESE" when we take his picture now, so you never know!)

-A bunch of people posted a "things to do this summer" link on Facebook, and each time, I found myself getting roped into reading about this: http://www.eco-odyssee.ca/en/ I WANT TO SEE BEAVERS IN THEIR NATURAL HABITAT. Anyways, so Tyler and I are going to take a day this summer sans Garett and ride up to pedal around the water mazes and stare at beavers because they are the cutest thing ever!!!

-It's not the summer, but at the end of October the Broadway version of Newsies is coming to the NAC. This is one of my favourite Disney movies of all time. It's not animated, but it's a musical, and Christian Bale in his very young days was the lead. I can't wait to see it come to life! I'll be singing embarrassingly loud for a nice event like this.

-We want to get out of town and hit up a cottage for a few nights with Garett. We want him to grow up having summer cottage experiences, so until we can buy one of our own, we will rent them :) All the fresh air will do him good!

- Tyler is playing with the band at the Russell Fair for Canada Day this year, and we are going to have a small get together/bbq thing at our place after with kids, if anyone comes--it is a weeknight, so most people probably won't head out our way!

- The day after Canada Day, Tyler and I are headed to Montreal for the weekend. He is hosting the Comiccon booth for The Kessel Run there that weekend, with an employee. The employee will be bringing his girlfriend, so her and I are planning a few things to do during the day together (shopping, dining, activities), and then Ty and I have a dinner planned with the event owners one night. It'll be a nice small vacation. I will be sad to leave G for another three nights, but I think 11 nights total away out of the last 15 months is not bad lol

- Clean the H-E-double hockey sticks out of my house and get it mostly decorated. We want to start the basement, but I told Tyler until the rest of the house is done, I don't even want to face that space. He pouted when I asked him last night if we could paint our room this weekend...which either means "yes, but I won't enjoy doing it" or "no, I have one day off a month and don't want to spend it painting"...time will tell lol.

- I am off with Garett on Friday, so I plan on hitting up the primitive design store in the next town over. It's super  tiny in there, but I love it, and plan on seeing a lot more of that place this summer lol.

Anyways, now that my brain is filled with visions of blue skies and sunny/warm fun-filled days, I am off to enjoy this Wednesday. Groceries tonight. Back to reality lol. Happy Hump Day, all!
