Tuesday Rambling
- I hate gloomy weather when I'm at work, but I love driving in it. The sun isn't in my eyes, my car is staying clean...I guess it's not all bad :)
- Spring cleaning is coming along nicely. I plan on tackling the kitchen this weekend, and maybe I can convince Ty to paint our bedroom so I can start decorating it!
- I have a new found love of edamame beans (as one of my 29 before 29 things--to try new foods, this was one of them). I tried a salad that is edamame, corn, and red peppers with a garlic/honey/soy/evoo dressing. I think it's my new favourite summer side dish! So fresh!
- Looking online for new summer clothing. I went through my clothes this past weekend and I got rid of SO much. I have less clothes than Tyler now (Tyler has a lot still and he went through his too lol). Time to fill up that empty space! lol
- Feeling like my car is new again. Ty did an oil change and tuned everything up. It gives me extra confidence in it lol.
- Garett is really keen on independent play right now. This gives me time to do things while he runs around.
- Going to bed before 9:30 and only waking up at 6. My body is enjoying the extra sleep I've been giving myself. I know you can't catch up on lost sleep, but I sure do like trying!
- I think Garett and I will stay close to home on Friday. If it rains, we will just splash around in mud and puddles, and if not, we will go for a walk on the path and play at the park :)
- I need groceries, so I think I will have Tyler pick up Garett on Thursday, so I can run to the grocery store in town and take my time :) I love grocery shopping by myself. It's so peaceful to just look at everything and read the labels (I am so old).
- That I am wearing pants I haven't fit in since I bought them! Sitting down is a different story. I actually undid them because they were digging a bit more than I was comfortable with. But they fit perfectly when I'm standing! :)
- I cleaned my office this morning, so I am feeling extra organized. I also got my meal plan ready for the week for us. Time to mix things up and try new dinner ideas again! I will say we are lucky to have a big rotation of things we like, but it's nice to add a new staple once a month or so.
- Still looking forward to our first bbq of the season. Everytime we plan on it, Ty either has to work later, I forgot to marinade the meat, or it's too cool and windy/raining. We will get there! bbq season will soon be in full force and I won't have to cook for a long time haha
- My hair has been behaving exceptionally well lately. Usually it dries and does some funky standing up in weird places dance. But it has been pretty tame.
- Since we got rid of the spare room bed, I think I will turn that into a play room. Tyler thinks we should as well, and then it will minimize the amount of toys in the living room. It'll be like kind of having a grown up house back, but still giving Garett lots of rooms to play in!
- Garett is so good with his glasses. I really thought it was going to be more of an issue getting him to keep them on. And he already looks so different to me without them on. It's going to be weird when he doesn't have to wear them anymore. If I'm this used to it after just 6 days, I can only imagine 3+ months!
- We had a potluck at lunch today. It was good :) I brought a fruit platter and made a cream cheese kind of dip.
- Next week, we are having a Divisional bake off--a cake bake off. I have to get the recipe I am going to use in order! Winner gets bragging rights...we have some pretty amazing bakers in the Division though. Competition will be steep :)
- I'm struggling with mother's day gift ideas. What is everyone getting their moms?? Should I be putting together something for my babysitter since she's like a mother-figure kind of to G (and is a mother to two kids)? I always feel like I have to do stuff for her-she's so good to the kids and us, and is part of our family now!
