This Weekend
Today is my Friday. Since our care provider is off to take her daughter to a basketball tournament in Hamilton this weekend, I decided this time I would take the day off to be with G (Ty has been good to do this for the last few months if she is sick or something). We don't have much planned! I want to clean the front hall closet out, and we will go to a store in Russell, and stop for a walk on the path and a frozen yogurt at the place near the path. Other than that--nap time generally eats up a big portion of the afternoon, and our day will be over :(
I bought the paint for the master bedroom last night. For real though, when did it start costing so much for paint? I understand it's a bit more because I am buying the paint and primer together paints for this house (builders paint is much rougher and just sucks up the paint, so you need this type), but still! And since I wanted an accent wall in the room, it was two colours...But then I look at the grand scheme of the house and think "am I going to not make it exactly the way I want it to save a bit of money?"...the answer is no. I have the bedding I want all picked out too, but waiting to see how the colours look on the wall before I commit to the bedding! So...stay tuned for a Master bedroom post in the next few weeks , once everything I orders arrives and gets put up :)
I also ordered some Paw Patrol wall decals for Garett's play room yesterday, and have enlisted my talented mom's help in creating some art work for the room as well :) I think we will refrain from painting in here and just cover the walls with art work instead :)
I did two loads of laundry last night, and still have countless more--darn you towels and bedsheets!!! They slow down my laundry pace so much! lol I will hopefully get to play catch up this weekend and be laundry-less for like 10 minutes!
I did groceries last night, and got home only at 5:30 since I had to stop and get paint too. We had a frozen mac and cheese for dinner and it was horrible. Garett liked it, but to me it tasted so processed. Yuck! Back to normal home cooked food tonight. I am thinking we will try this new recipe:

While I was gone last night, Ty took Garett for a ride on his trike, which is one of his favourite things ever. Get yours here:

They went to the park, and played. They had a snack of cucumbers and carrots and bologna before I got home, and were playing cars when I got back. So cute. It's so nice having a nice park nearby--this kid could happily live outside, so it makes it easier to burn off his sillies when we are home, instead of being stuck inside!
He is off to the playgroup today, since it's just him and one other little boy with our babysitter today. He LOVES when they get to go to playgroup. He always chats so much in the car, listing everyones names of who he played with and saying what he did "mommy! bounced balls!" "mommy! JUMPED!" "Mommy! PLAY" I love those car conversations--he is so proud when he puts a few words together, and I repeat it and he squeals with glee that I understood him.
I am getting off track...This weekend. I want to paint. I want to clean. I want to play hard/play outside. I want it to be nice so we can get frozen yogurt. I want to order some décor for our bedroom. I want to start planning the next room to decorate. I want to try a new slow cooker recipe for pulled pork. I want to relax. I want to finish season 3 of Drop Dead Diva on Netflix. I need to figure out what cupcakes to make for our Divisional cupcake Bake-Off next Wednesday. Here are the rules :
I have a few ideas, but I need to try a sample batch of one or two this weekend to see how they turn out. They need to look PERFECT, because I am SO competitive lol. The competition is fierce...there are two notoriously good bakers in my division, I am nervous to go up against them lol. I know I'm good, but they are amazing and creative and artistic!
I am thinking I want to host another "party"..not sure what this time though...I've done scentsy and Fantasia, and I can get epicure stuff at discounted prices. I'll have to look into it:)
This post is totally random and not at all on track with the idea of the weekend, but I am too lazy to change the title :) Have a great Thursday, and enjoy your weekend if I don't get to post tomorrow!!

As announced yesterday during our potluck, we will be having
a Divisional Bake-Off.
Rules:
- Bake-Off will be held at noon on Wednesday, April 29th.
- Baker should provide 12 cupcakes. One cupcake will be divided amongst the judges to be scored. The rest will be divided up in quarters and distributed as samples within the division.
- All cupcakes must be homemade and from scratch.
- Spouses are not allowed to help participants.
- Cupcakes will be scored by a panel of judges based on pre-determined categories: flavour, frosting, shape, texture, presentation.
- Interested bakers must sign-up to participate. The sign-up sheet is outside xxxxxxx
To quote the tacky Japanese cooking show “Iron Chef”… who’s
cupcake will reign supreme?
