My Current Favourite Things
Summery weather brings out my most social, bubbly, positive self. I want to go out and do things (date nights, fun stuff with G, bbq and play out back, enjoy a cold beer, etc). So after a fun long weekend, which I already did a recap for, and since nothing particularly awesome has happened this morning, I will share a list of my current favourite things! :)

1) Lemonade. I am obsessed right now. All flavours. Unique flavours, or the old standard. I can't get enough.
2) Basement bathroom inspiration. This is the picture I am going off of. But instead of glass tile, we want the stone wall, or a wood panel wall. I have the vanity now--so we are getting there :) I love looking for inspirational photos online to decorate!
3)The anticipation of having the cleaning lady start!! She is coming tomorrow night for the quote and to sign a contract. Pretty excited--step one towards claiming my weekends back!
4) Date nights. We don't do them too often, but when we do, I walk around with a smile on my face for the next week. I love spending alone time with Tyler so much. It's like catching up with your best friend you haven't seen in a few months--we get so caught up in our other roles in life, we forget how much fun we have when it's just us.
5) Sunny days! We got spoiled this weekend, and I am SO looking forward to the rest of summer. I will even gladly take the rain and storms if it means more sunny days in between.
6)BBQ's. I love cooking every single meal on the bbq in the summer. I love smelling the neighbourhood in the summer--getting whiffs of everyone's dinners. Somehow being able to smell everyone cooking their supper feels like it's a big group of friends eating lol.
7)Summer dresses. I hate the feeling of pants and a shirt in the summer. I like summer dresses--shorter generally (I hate feeling hot in maxi's and how they look when I walk). It's nice to feel naked, but not actually BE naked haha
8) Summer drives. I actually really enjoy my summer time commutes. Windows down, playing my favourite summer anthems. It's like therapy!
9)Sunscreen. Playing outside means sunscreen, and lots of it. I am obsessed with the smell of sunscreen. When I smell it on Garett's skin, I just hold him in really tight and inhale for as long as he will let me haha. Why does it never seem to smell the same when it's on your own body, as when you catch the passing smell on someone else?

Having a cleaning lady is the best money I spend, especially at this stage in my life with a young family. Between daycare and work, I hardly see Sam as it is because he goes to bed so early. The fact that the time I do get with him I don't have to worry about scrubbing a toilet, so worth it! xo
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to hear from real life "normal" moms that find it helps! I'm so excited, I was hoping I wasn't setting myself up for disappointment :) Thank you!
