My new friendship...
Last night was hectic, to say the least. I got home around 3:45 with G-man, and immediately emptied the dishwasher, threw in a load of laundry, took meat out to defrost in the microwave, got changed, made a snack for my boy, got cartoons set up so he could watch a little tv while he ate and played, and made a quick meatloaf, rice and veggies. The meatloaf was still cooking for 30 more minutes when Tyler got home and I had to run out the door.
It was just me and one other lady in my circuit training last night. She was a tank, and it made me push myself even harder. I really thought all of my limbs were going to give out of me, and that I was going to throw up. I got home in a bit of a foul mood. I just wanted bed, I was feeling horrible. Tyler and I did a fast tidy on the rest of the house (cleaning lady comes today), and I took a shower, G had a bath, I heated up a bit of dinner, made my lunch, laid out our clothes for today, and got everyone into their pj's and we laid in bed to play with our new purchase.
Previously, we have been using a combination of apple tv, Netflix, Crackle, and just recently, Shomi.
While everything we purchased on apple tv will always stay connected through our iTunes account, we think we are getting rid of them all (we have three--two at home and bought one for Ty's office at the store). As we cruised through all of the available tv shows and movies (literally every movie and show--and the most recent episodes and movies straight out of the box office), we quickly realized that we could also watch all of the Sens games (and any other sports internationally that we want), so we can cancel our cable, Shomi, etc. I will keep Netflix since we also stream through our ipads, playstation, etc.
Our greatest realization was that you had access to ANY and ALL Disney movies. You have the ability to download anything to keep on the hard drive, and can do data dumps onto your computer, phone, etc. This alone has saved us, at the very least, hundreds of dollars.
Everything you stream through is in full HD, and you can add many "add-ons"...certain channels, other features (like Netflix), you can watch concerts, listen to music, look at pictures, etc, etc. I don't know how we never thought to buy one of these before when they were mentioned to us in conversation. We bought a wireless keyboard with a scroll touch pad as well, and made the searching mechanisms MUCH easier.
MyGica Android TV Box ATV1900AC along with the k400 Wireless Touch Keyboard by Logitech--the two together run just over $300 (or android tv alone is about 220+tax). And we have already saved that much just last night when we put the new season of Walking Dead (season 5) on our favourites list, watched a bit of Toy Story, a bit of Aladdin, and bookmarked all of the new blockbusters (Minions, Big Hero 6, Interstellar, etc, etc).

It's the beginning of a beautiful friendship, I think :)
We all slept like logs after all of that excitement, and even had the windows open until bedtime and got so much fresh air running throughout :) I closed them at night time because I didn't want G's blinds blowing around making scary noise in his room, and since he sleeps with the door closed, I needed some air flowing in there!
Today I stopped at the bank to do some deposits, and was shocked to see that they have gotten rid of the deposit envelopes! I put in the two cheques from the dentist and from G's glasses, and the system now SCANS them, and it comes up on the screen with the total amount (yay no more math for Amy), and you can have a print out of the scanned cheque as well.. Pretty cool. Anyways, you know what they say about small things amusing small minds? I'm pretending not to be totally blown away by this cool new technology lol.
Also, I also stopped for gas (even though I had 3/4 of a tank) just because it was at 95 cents! lol
Tonight is going to be a bit nutso as well. Start dinner as soon as I get home, get changed, snack time, and head out the door for my class at 5. Happy that it's a weight lifting class tonight because they are much more laid back. I can breathe the whole time.
My trainer hurt his leg the other day and was on crutches in class last night--poor guy. Hope he has a speedy recovery (he thinks it's a pulled muscle and has an ultrasound tomorrow). He finds it very hard to teach when he is in crutches himself, and since it's just him--we just hope it gets better soon! lol
My plan for the rest of the night is to sit on my butt and watch android tv and eat my dinner. G will likely bring in his bin of instruments. His new favourite thing is "playing music" in our bed all together. He hands us each an instrument and we all have to play together lol.
Tomorrow, my class is at 6, so I will leave work, do groceries on the way home, go to the gym and bed shortly after! lol Looking forward to a weekend of relaxation and not too much on the go :)
How are your weeknights? Busy? Laid back? What does a day look like to you?
Happy Thursday! AKA. Friday Eve :)
