Weekend Happenings
I'm tired. That's the obligatory "It's Monday" type of opening blog statement, right?
That would only be a half lie. I could go for a little more sleep, but that's just because I feel lazy from the humidity. But other than that, I'm all rested out.
Friday night, Tyler messaged me and asked me if I wanted him to bring home a new 2 person board game to try out. My response was merely "that's cute". But not in the "it's cute and romantic" sense, but in the "it's cute you think G-man will actually let us play a game WITHOUT him, and play alone with his own toys knowing what we are doing," kind of "that's cute". I do look forward to when he doesn't care that we play alone, or when he's old enough to be included in board game night (not to wish our lives away), but for now, that part of our lives is majorly on hold. So instead, we ordered in for my cheat meal (I got a club sandwich...mmmm bread), and we watched some tv. Took baths. read. played. etc. Typical Friday night fashion.
Saturday we were up bright and early, Tyler did a major clean of the garage--it's looking good. Just a few more shelves to hang, a few more things to get rid of, and we will be done! phew. He had to leave around 12:30 to head to Metcalfe for a sound check for a small wedding that him and one of his bands were playing at. The original plan was they were all going to come back for a bbq for lunch and such, but the sound check went until 2:45, and they were told they had a "band table" for dinner--which was at 5:30, so plans changed and they just stayed there. I was a bit peeved, since I missed out on Rylie's birthday party because of it, but I understood. And G wouldn't have been good company anyways. He napped from noon until 3:30. So I'm kind of happy they didn't come storming in being loud anyways :) We ate easy meals all day, and it was nice to not have to worry about cooking! G loves easy meals--cut up fruits and veggies, dip, cereal, etc. God bless him for that! He was pretty wound up and didn't end up going to sleep until after 9. I fell asleep around 10:30 and woke up to Ty walking in around 1:30. He curled right up into bed and went to sleep. I couldn't even get a "hey" out of my mouth I was so deep in sleep mode lol
Sunday morning, G woke up around 5:45 and I knew he could sleep longer, so pulled him up into our bed, and we all slept until 7:45. Since Ty was out late, I was nice and took g downstairs, made him breakfast and watched cartoons. Tyler has a different version of this story, but I think he was dreaming that I kept G in bed to jump all over him lol. Men.
Tyler went out to wash the cars, and G and I played quite a bit. we had a quick snack and then he went for another 2.5 hour nap. I had to wake him up to get dressed. We were off to my MIL's house for her birthday. The plan was to have dinner, a swim and mini golf, but the mini golfing took a backseat and we never wound up going.
So G and I swam for a few hours. He is quite the little water lover. He went under the water all the way 4 times, and was splashing around in his water wings and jumping off the ladder to me. He certainly loves it in there. Next house MUST have a pool!
My SIL and I escaped for a few minutes and picked up an ice cream cake, and we ordered Chinese food (I had a bit of veggies, some rice, chicken ball, and felt sick ALL night afterwards!)
We put the boys in their matching Saskatchewan RoughRiders tracksuits, and sat them in Grandpa's boat for a picture with their new fishing rods he bought them. Pretty cute.

We headed home around 7:30 (got there around 3:30), and hit up a shoppers on the way home for some new shampoo (my shampoo is making my hair look greasy even though I JUST washed it?) and some diapers.
G passed out for the last 5 minutes of the ride, so I knew we had to squeeze in his evening snack REALLY quickly before he passed out at the kitchen table lol.
So I made his snack, packed my lunch, laid out our clothes for today, and he was off to bed by 8:45.
This week is going to be crazy. Tyler is in a charity golf tournament today and will get home around 7, Tuesday I have my rebounder class at 7:15, Wednesday foundations class at 6, Thursday strength training at 5, and Friday foundations at 6 again. I might have another rebounder class Saturday early morning if I'm not dead yet. The push is on.
I found my passport on Saturday (in my Punta Cana purse---idiot!!), and we are ready to book the trip. So we asked my MIL yesterday if they will watch G (we will only be there for 4 nights this time since the 5 nights are considerably more expensive, and we don't want to go for 7 without g again). So it will be a nice time for everyone, I'm sure. We will book this week, and give the details to our friends so they can book as well once their passports come in :)
I stepped on the scale on Sunday, and am proud to say there was finally some progress. So I have decided instead of discouraging myself by weighing myself every other day, I will only do it once a week. I am down 5.5 pounds. Which in the grand scheme, is not much, but it's a start, and enough motivation to keep moving, eating healthy and being active! My ultimate goal of 60 pounds means I would probably have serious loose skin if I didn't keep active also, and nothing would kill my self esteem like that right now, so I want to firm up as I lose. It's a lot of work, but it's my own fault for letting it go this long! UGH
We are headed out of town on Saturday to celebrate my mom's birthday (mom and MIL and birthdays very close together :) ), so we are looking forward to that, and then on Sunday I have a brunch date with two girls from work :)
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! And may you stay cool this week, and let it go by quickly!!
