What doesn't kill you....
I literally thought yesterday would kill me. But you know what they say: What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!
I had a horrible night of sleep, I was way too wound up from my rebounder class until 8, and was having dreams that I was sleeping through my alarm--then I woke up, contemplated staying home for a second, and decided against it. So I turned off my alarm and got ready (it was definitely a hair UP kind of day).
I was going to just make my way into work, but then I remembered I had a cheque to put in from the dentist, and so I had to stop before work, because I don't want to have to run in with Garett another time.
Then I was driving and saw that gas was at 99.9, so I obviously had to stop.
Then I remembered I only brought my lunch and forgot my breakfast in the fridge, so I had to stop at the café downstairs and get some yogurt and granola and some strawberries.
I got to my desk at 7:24 (I start at 7). Luckily, I am the first one in the office everyday, so whatever. I try not to make it a habit, but after an already busy morning, I felt I deserved the break lol
Work was crazy--the girl that came back from holidays this week went home sick with a headcold around noon. Things got crazy, of course, because that's just how the universe works!
Tyler was picking Garett up so that I could head to Orleans to do groceries. It was a nuthouse in there when I arrived around 3:30, but I totally speed shopped anyways. I was in and out of there in 45 minutes (which is really good for a full grocery haul for me--usually I like to meticulously go through things in the aisles and pick my "new" thing that I buy each time. This time I bought a spaghetti squash to try in a recipe. Fun! lol
I headed home, and the boys were playing in the garage, Garett was sweeping and Tyler was putting stuff away and getting recycling sorted for garbage day today. So he took a break and helped me unload the groceries. They did their thing while I cleaned out the fridge and pantry of all of the leftover bad/unhealthy stuff, aside from whatever little treats G eats. Then I unpacked and put everything away.
Immediately I had to go get changed and ready for the gym. I got there with 10 minutes to spare, so I went in to pay for my membership. Ryan (trainer) told me I was the only one coming for that class. Great lol. This is usually great news any other time, but I was already running on empty, and being alone just means he pushes you even harder--so I hunkered down and plowed through it. This week was a lot of plyometric stuff, core work, and arms (kettlebells, freeweights, resistance bands), and some jogging outside. It's supposed to be an hour class, and it was feeling long, and with good reason, it was about an hour and 20. Good deal!
I made my way home around 7 and the boys were having their dinner still (slow eaters lol), and I was way too tired to cook myself something, so I had a bowl of my cereal and boiled some eggs for my breakfasts, and made my meals for today (1 slice of 12 grain toast, 1 hardboiled egg for breakfast, rice cake with almond butter and banana, with a gala apple and a few slices of sharp cheddar cheese for lunch, and a single serve cottage cheese and some fat free wheat thins for snack). Which means supper will need to be mostly veggies tonight. Stir fry, or something!
After that, we tidied a bit for the cleaning lady today, G had a bath, and Tyler and I each took our showers. I threw in a load of laundry and put two loads away, changed bedsheets, and laid out mine and G's clothes for today.
It was an accidental late night--G only went to bed around 9:15 and we went down at 10 (yes that's late), but we were all so so so tired, I don't think a hurricane would have woke me last night. Tyler was the same, and G was still sleeping when I left this morning for work.
I was supposed to go for dinner tonight with the girl from work, and another we used to work with, but she is still out sick today, so we have post poned to god knows when--my schedule is a bit crazy for the next two weeks, so going to play that by ear!
This weekend is going to be a little nuts, and hoping to find some time to just relax as well--Tyler has a gig for a wedding on the 15th, and on the 16th we are all going mini golfing for my mother in laws birthday. It should be interesting to see how long we last there with a 2.5 year old. Hopefully he enjoys it and there aren't too many people behind us annoyed by how long it takes.
So, in a nutshell, that was my life in the last 24 hours lol.
