Fall to do list recap/ winter list

-have a girls night  DONE. It was a bit of a fail since it ended up just being amber and I after dinner, but still, mission accomplished !!:)  -finish all of my Christmas shopping (I have also accepted the task of doing the shopping for tylers side lol) DONE. I finished my shopping almost a month early and were all wrapped and ready to go well before Christmas ! -rotate out the food in the cupboard and get some organizational things (like for soup and some canisters for pasta and baking stuff. partially done. I cleaned out the cupboards and reorganized them, but haven't done the canisters yet  - get a hanger caddy for Garett's closet so I can lay out his clothes for daycare only once a week instead of everynight so daddy never scrambles in the morning to get him dressed if I don't get to it the night before Not done. I forgot about this. I want to do this again after reading this haha - implement meal planning and do one week of shopping at a tim...

grrr, Monday's

And so begins a week of absolute craziness (next week will be crazy also since daycare is closed for the full week. Ahhh).  I'm going to visit work on Friday with Tyler and Keira for a little potluck thing, and just found out that our daycare provider is also having a Christmas party for the kids that starts at 4pm and parents and siblings are welcome. I want Garett to stay, and I don't want him to have only one of us there, so we will be going to that too. Friday is a day I am not looking forward to. Because it marks day #1 of a messed up schedule for Keira lol  She's resilient though and will be ok, but it bothers me more than anything.  Tyler came home early and we started a deep clean of the house. Put away a few loads of laundry, did the dishes , cleaned the vaccuum, organized the master closet, cleaned the powder room, cleaned the basement , changed bedsheets, etc. I went and got Garett and we stopped in at tims for Tim bits and hot drinks for everyone.  Once w...

Fun weekend recap

Image
Friday night I picked Garett up at daycare, and we immediately went and got him a haircut. He was starting to look scruffy , so wanted to get it trimmed up before Christmas.  Afterwards, we went by the grocery store to grab a few things. He picked out his first Archie comic book out :) I had to go back for a few more things after because he fell in the store and cried, so we booted it out as fast as possible.  Afterwards , we put out the trap for Elfie. Garett thought of it himself. We cut out the bottom of a pop case and wrapped it to look like a present. Put a bowl of candy inside and taped it up. He said Elfie will think it's a real gift, open it and see the candy, and it will close on him and trap him. Genius! He also wanted to write his name on a paper beside it so he knew who was trying to catch him.  We caught him! And Elfie wrote "you tricky trickster! Help me!"  So we've since taken the box off of him so he can get out tonight :) The kids were both in bed by...

T'is the Season

Garett wanted to put together a little bag of goodies for his friends at daycare. So we took to the dollar store , and here's what he picked. (Of course he made himself a bag too lol).  1) the bags. I always use these , because I can open them to add stuff if I need to without breaking any seals or wrapping anything.  2) Finding Dori stickers. Because kids get excited about adhesive things   3) Slime. God he loves slime. 4) Cars stamps. Because kids also like things that can stain your skin! 5) a Frozen crazy straw. It makes your cup of water look more fancy.  6) a Christmas popper thing. Garett has never seen these before. I wish I could see them open them haha 7) a glow stick necklace. Cindy should have a fun afternoon on dec 23rd with Garett running around shutting off lights and closing doors to see it glow :) haha For Cindy , we decided to go the daytime sips/nighttime sips route. I got her this David's Tea hot chocolate blend , with mini marshmallows and a cute...

What day is it really?!

Image
It really felt like a Friday around this place.  I did lots of laundry and dishes today. I also made the Christmas gift bags for daycare kids, wrapped our providers gift, Rod and Sharon's gifts , my father in laws gift and a gift for my mom before Keira's nap ended.  Tyler came home early ; around 2:30. So I decided to go get Garett. Before we went home , we stopped at Party City for the plates , cutlery, table cloth and napkins for Christmas Eve dinner at our house. Garett picked a few little gadgets out also. Then we headed over onto OshKosh and got a few things, and some adorable little finger puppets (a prince and a princess ) so g could put on a show for his baby sister.  We got home around 4:15. The boys went outside to play and string more Christmas lights. While they were out there, I cooked up some stuffed peppers for dinner.  After dinner, it was late, so we played a bit, Tyler bathed Keira and I read to Garett before bed.  Keira was in bed by 8:00 , s...

Another day, another whatever

Tuesday's are such a blahhhh day, even when you're not working.  Keira and I played our tush's off this morning.  When she passed out, I cleaned out the fridge and did a load of dishes and cleaned up the mess of toys from the other night.  Tyler came home early, relieved me of momma duties and I went to pet smart and to do groceries. I picked Garett up on the way home and we put away the groceries.  The boys went out and played in the snow and started the walls of gs Fort while I made them some food.  Keira went down for another big nap, so I washed and sterilized all of the bottles ,made some more, cleaned Garett's room and hung some clothes. The boys got dressed and went to the vet with Steve again. They are running a few more tests since he started going bald. I was terrified it was ring worm and she said she's positive it's not that, but yanked some hairs for testing to appease me. She thinks it's from stress. Change in diet , having no teeth, etc. But i...

Meeting the Big Guy in Red

Image
Last night was a fun one. Tylers guy clocked 12 hours in the tow truck, so he was in a really good mood also. When the boys got home, they built a little Fort, sat in it and talked and had a little snowball toss haha so cute to watch.  While they were out there, and I watched from the nursery window, Keira played in her crib, squealing away. #blessed  When the boys came in, we all got dressed and headed to Place d'Orleans to meet Santa Pierre. We waited in line for a few minutes before he arrived. When he came in, he stopped to see all the kids on the way to his chair. He stopped to tell Garett how cute he is and he liked his glasses, and that Santa wears glasses too. Garett held his hand the whole time and just stared at him in awe. My heart literally melted to the floor. So cute.  While we were in line, Keira had her bottle. They snapped the pictures so fast because the kiddos cooperated so well. Santa commented on how well behaved the kids were, and that Keira did very...

Weekend flashback

Friday Tyler came home early from work, so I went out alone to the bank, walmart, home hardware, and to get cat food. I picked up Garett and we went to the dollar store, and headed home. It was a quiet night in. Keira and g were both in bed for the night before 8, and slept through until 7:30 the next morning, so we all got some good sleep and woke up fresh on Saturday :) Got a bit done-- cleaned and vacuumed my bedroom from top to bottom and cleaned and organized my cupboards in the ensuite. It left my hallway upstairs in chaos, but I will deal with it later lol. I also changed all the bed sheets, and ordered Garett's birthday cake while he watched Mickey Mouses Christmas story.  Garett said he wanted to BAKE, so bake we did. We made two white chocolate and pumpkin bread loaves, a chocolate chunk banana bread and three types if truffle mixtures (rolled one mixture this morning, but the rest are chilling still).  After we finished baking, Garett debarked it a mommy and G date ...

Easy like Sunday morning

Image
We have found a good groove at home, but life still feels busy. Last night the boys came home and shovelled the front walk, and back steps. We had an easy dinner of grilled cheese and soup, as per Garett's request. Once we were done eating, Garett and I made skor cookies, washed bottles and filled them up, played, did baths, had a snack and watched some cartoons all before his bedtime at 7:30.  He pulled out some random facts on me before bed, like "mommy, did you know the sun is a star?" And "we drink water so we don't get dehydrated". He's also into spelling out all of the words on his book covers. Kid is a genius, I tell ya! Keira was in bed by 9, and we watched Scrooged and headed to bed around 10.  This morning I changed Garett's bedsheets, emptied all the garbage cans for garbage day tomorrow, fed the cats and played with Keira before her nap.  Steve goes back to the vet tonight. He has his two week follow up to make sure everything is healing ...

Looking forward : a list

Today I'm throwing it FORWARD to all the things I'm looking forward to. Winter is always a different kind of busy for our little family. It's riddled with holidays and birthdays and when we can squeeze in as many dates as possible since summer is always work heavy for Tyler.  So here are the things I'm looking forward to this winter so far: 1) Christmas. We are hosting my immediate in-laws on Christmas Eve for dinner and presents again this year. We always look forward to this. It's a lot of work--and moreso this year with Keira here, but it's nice to just sit down to a nice meal all together :) then of course, Santas visit , and Christmas with my family !! I can't wait for any of it!! Lol 2) the next BIG thing after Christmas is my little mans FOURTH birthday (Wahh, he's getting so big). This year he has chosen Star Wars as the theme, so I ordered the invites and thank you cards over the weekend, and will send them out soon hopefully!! The only thing I ...

A weekend at home recap !

Image
Friday night I was supposed to go to birthday party for my work buddy turning 30, but I stayed home instead with the rest if my little clan. I was away from the kiddos Thursday night for a bit, and didn't want to be again do soon after. So we just played, painted some pictures , tidied up Garett's books, had baths and were in bed pretty early! Saturday everyone slept in. I made some bacon and eggs for breakfast, we cleaned the garage a bit, and the boys went to Star Wars store and picked up some stuff we needed from the grocery store. We cleaned the toilets, did dishes, cleaned the basement and played a lot. Garett wanted to bake cookies, but we somehow ran out of time! Lol we ordered in dinner and then sipped on some rum cream while watching "Masterminds" once the kids were all in bed.  Sunday we all slept in again until about 8. I made a big French toast and assorted fuita for breakfast (we had strawberries and bananas while daddy had blackberries and raspberries). ...
