Fun weekend recap

Friday night I picked Garett up at daycare, and we immediately went and got him a haircut. He was starting to look scruffy , so wanted to get it trimmed up before Christmas. 

Afterwards, we went by the grocery store to grab a few things. He picked out his first Archie comic book out :) I had to go back for a few more things after because he fell in the store and cried, so we booted it out as fast as possible. 

Afterwards , we put out the trap for Elfie. Garett thought of it himself. We cut out the bottom of a pop case and wrapped it to look like a present. Put a bowl of candy inside and taped it up. He said Elfie will think it's a real gift, open it and see the candy, and it will close on him and trap him. Genius! He also wanted to write his name on a paper beside it so he knew who was trying to catch him. 

We caught him! And Elfie wrote "you tricky trickster! Help me!"  So we've since taken the box off of him so he can get out tonight :)

The kids were both in bed by 8:30, so I ordered Garett's birthday gift:

He will love it!

I had a brutal night sleep on Friday night (about an hour). I just couldn't shut my brain off.

Saturday Morning ty and g played a bit, then he took Keira when she was ready to nap, and I played with g and then he helped me make some more chocolate chunk banana bread, and I made a huge batch of crabcakes and Cajun aioli. I made a few of them for us to eat at lunch. There's still a ton in the fridge and I can't wait to eat them all up lol

After that, Garett and I read a few stories and then we got to decorating our gingerbread house. 

Once we were done that and cleaned up, Garett got ready and him and daddy headed to the star wars store, to go get our new roasting pan for the turkey at Canadian tire (I found a really good one on sale 70% off, which is insane lol), and they stopped at mucho burrito for dinner and brought me home a salad I wanted. 

Keira was still napping when they got home, so the boys went to the basement and I watched some Nashville (almost through season 2 now). 

Ty took Keira from me and g and I played and read stories before bed. Then I took Keira and put her to bed and put away laundry, made bottles, cleaned a bit. I had the hardest time getting to sleep , and didn't until after midnight :(

Garett woke at 7:15 and we got up, found what Elfie had gotten into, sweep the main floor, did a load of dishes , put toys away, and made a big breakfast. 

Afterwards, I got ready and headed out to meet my friends Sarah and Kim. We went and tried out Escape Room. We did the Serial Killer Charade room. What a fun room! I've been to other escape rooms, but this one was more intricate (was 6 different rooms inside you had to work through)

. It had about a 15% success rate on the room. We were out with 5 other people, and we got out with 1 minute 40 seconds left on the 60 min clock. 

Once we left there, we went for lunch and a pint at Moxies. 

We said our merry Christmases and headed home. I stopped and grabbed some dinner for the boys , and we just played and relaxed for the following hours before bed. Kids were asleep by 8;15, Tyler and I watched funny YouTube videos and I tried setting up my new phone. But will finish the transfer today. 

We were in bed shortly after. Keira woke at 7:10, and we woke Garett up at 7;40. 

While I was cruising the Internet last night, I decided to plan my date day with Garett, so I booked and prepaid for everything for Feb 5. To start, we will do a Valentine's Day themed baking class

When we leave there, I booked us an hour at the open jump slot at sky zone indoor trampoline park !

We will grab lunch afterwards. I can't wait :)
