Mid-Week slump
Yesterday, we woke up and couldn't even see out our windows. ICE EVERYWHERE.
Tyler had been out overnight from about 11:45PM-8:45 AM. He had pre-warned me of the chaos that was the roads, so I took his warnings and took a personal day from work.
The buses were cancelled anyways (Garett doesn't ride the bus, and generally goes in rain or shine, but since I was worried about getting out of the house/cleaning off the inch of ice on the car and driveway, making it to daycare and his school safely, and THEN sitting in hours worth of traffic to get to work), I called it and just stayed in.
Then the thaw happened. So around 10 AM everything was totally cleared away and melted. Oh well. I'll gladly take the day!! Once Tyler got home, he went to bed for a few hours. He woke up when I put Keira for her nap around 12:00. The kids and I had spent the morning having breakfast, colouring, doing "homework" pages, puzzles, reading stories, playing house and singing songs to Keira.
Once Tyler was awake, I took Garett and we headed to Metro to get a few of the things I forgot on my big shopping trip on Sunday. We went home and made lunch for the kids while Keira slept until 3. Tyler had to head to the shop to fix the F250 before the run that night, and I ordered some sandwiches for us from Lunchbox for supper. I made the kids an easy dinner (they don't like lunchbox lol). I had a hot bath around 5:30, and then laid out clothes for today, and their pjs for that night, and they came up to have baths. I got a bunch of laundry put away before they went to bed, while they played "blanket hide out" behind the chair in Keira's room.
We watched a few episodes of Parenthood and hit the hay as well.
Tonight is swimming for Garett, so I always feel kind of exhausted in the morning on Wednesdays , because I know it's going to be a long day lol. He also has pizza day at school, and tomorrow is his birthday, so he is excited. VERY excited, and very wound up/hyper about it. He cannot wait for his party on Saturday!
Today, Tyler is bringing the balloons to be inflated/picked up on Friday night or Saturday morning, and I need to wrap gifts tonight also. Hopefully Tyler will take him to swimming tonight and I can get that done.
Tomorrow, being his birthday, he has requested his favourite (corn on the cob, rice and Ham), so we will do that, and he picked out a Cherry black forest cake yesterday at metro. He is going to be SO caked out--that cake tomorrow, then his NERF cake on Saturday, and then a few days later the cake for tyler's birthday. LUCKY haha.
Friday just happens to also be a PD day, so he goes to a different school up the street for a program all day. This time , they are having another community guest come in to do presentations, and the kindergarteners are having a "dance party", so I had to buy some blank CD's because they asked us to burn our kids favourite songs onto a CD. Garett has requested 1 Mariana's trench song, 1 Michael Jackson song, 2 Toto songs, and an Ed Sheeran song.
Daycare is also closed on Friday, so Tyler will need to take a day and spend it with the little princess. Garett's cake comes on Friday as well and I'm excited to see it! We really don't have decorations this year since Skyzone doesn't allow things being hung or anything, so his shirt, the colour of his balloons, and his cake are the only real nerf things about this party (and his invites and thank you cards). We got him a Nerf gun, a jug of 50,000 of those water beads, and a snap circuits Jr. kit (him and Tyler LOVE this sort of thing).
I doubt I will be blogging again before next week, so have a fantastic weekend, everyone!
