Weekend Wrapup

Friday Daycare was closed, and there was a PD day at Garett's school. He woke up saying his ear was hurting a bit , so instead of sending him to this day program he goes to on PD day's, we both stayed home and kept him home as well. Since our Doctor is closed on Friday's, I didn't want G going into his birthday weekend with an ear infection, so I sent him to urgent care with Tyler. They said his ear was looking a bit red inside, so wrote a dose of amoxicillin. He is on a fairly high dosage though, and now he has a fever, so we booked an appointment at 12:20 today to see. I don't trust random doctors, and the fever could be a side effect of too much penicillin. So we held off on this morning's dose to see what our doctor has to say about it. Being a parent is so stressful sometimes!

Anyways, Friday was pretty tame. I rearranged my entire main floor--switched the furniture from the living room to family room, and vice versa. Keira LOVED this. She was a pretty good helper, for an almost 1.5 year old haha. Mostly just squeals of encouragement :) Tyler picked up the balloons from Party City , and the cake was delivered around dinner time. Kids were in bed early, and we stayed up to watch Parenthood.

Saturday I was up earlier than the rest of the city, I'm sure. I have trouble sleeping the night before things I need to organize things for. We all got ready and loaded up the car and headed to Skyzone for the party! We were there a bit too early (oops--I need to learn how to read details better), but got in at 10 and got registered, loaded up the party cart, etc. The kids (and some adults lol) got to jump around for an hour--it was so much fun. Even Keira was having a blast, running and jumping all over the place! lol Afterwards, we had the MOST rushed hour in the party room. Pizza immediately followed by cake and gift opening and we loaded up and went home. While I like the convenience of not having a ton of people at my house making a mess I will have to clean up alone afterwards, not having to put out a huge spread of food, and people staying all hours of the day afterwards (I sound like a social recluse, but kids parties are tiring, and sometimes you just want to relax after a few hours lol), I found it to be beyond rushed in the room part of the party. But Garett had a blast, and I think it was just long enough for him before they got rowdy or over tired. I'll mark it as a success :)

We got home and keira napped for 3.5 hours, and Tyler picked up some rosemary pork loin, roasted potatoes and salad for dinner. Everyone ate and then Shannon and Casey and Rylie swung by for a visit and the boys watched some of the skills competition. The kids stayed up LATE--keira went down around 8:15, and Garett went at the same time. Everyone left around 9:30? I can't remember, but we went upstairs and somehow watched two episodes of Parenthood without falling asleep--then immediately crashed afterwards.

Sunday morning, everyone slept in! Woot! Garett had a bit of a fever when he woke up, so I gave him some Tylenol as  well, and we had a breakfast of fruit and yogurt, and then I went out to do another big haul of groceries and picked up some breakfast meals on the way home for everyone. Garett only ate the hashbrown of his, so keira had some of his sandwich and a hashbrown. Both kids napped a the same time this day, for about 2 hours. So I relaxed and watched Grace and Frankie and dozed off on the couch. We played the day away (Garett mostly laid down on the couch, as the fever started to climb in between Tylenol doses). We had a few movies play through, and we made a mac and cheese and bacon casserole for dinner. Keira ate hers and G's. He ate toast and a pedialyte freezie. I had a hot bath, and then the kids did as well, and they were in bed around 7:15.

Garett woke me up this morning at 1:45 with a fever of 103.8, so I gave him some motrin and wiped him down with a cool cloth and rubbed his back until he fell asleep. Carried him back to his room once I knew his fever was dropping a bit. I took keira to daycare this morning before work, and Garett is home with Tyler today. Interested to see what the doctor says this afternoon.

Tonight we have nothing on the agenda, thank god, and I will make some stirfry for dinner.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!
