Weekend Recap

Another insanely cold weekend down the pipes. While time seems to be standing still in the day-to-day scheme of things, overall, I would say these winter months are going by fairly quickly! Hallelujah.

This weekend was pretty uneventful for us on the adult-front.

Friday night was really uneventful. I left work a little bit early because of the freezing rain and impending flash freeze warning. So I went to the grocery store to stock up on some stuff, just in case the power decided to go out and not come back on for a while. It went out at tyler's store (and the civic hospital), so I was a bit worried. I also went and bought a toy for the birthday party we were going to on Saturday (and wrapping paper and cards for hers, Garett's and Tyler's birthdays also).
I headed home after, unloaded the car and we ended up ordering in some Gabriel's Pizza and watched a movie as a family. It was early to bed for us all.

Tyler got up around 1:15 and went into work for a few hours to help out. He was home around 6, grabbed about an hour nap and ended up participating in the rest of the day on his own with Garett. Keira decided 5:15AM was a good time to wake up that morning, and would not go back to sleep, and fought her nap until about noon, so that derailed the day, but c'est la vie!

Garett started his basketball lessons at Francois Dupuis, and had SO much fun. He came home so excited. Tyler had fun too, even though parental participation is required for a little bit of each class hahaha. After basketball was done, they headed out to the birthday party sans keira and I, since she had just fallen asleep. By the time she woke, we had missed the party (the intention was for us to go out there after she woke up).

They came home and we just played around the house, bathed the kids, read stories, etc. We ate some of the stew Tyler had made on Thursday (he made a batch of stew, spaghetti sauce and chili--I love when he is home alone lol).  Early to bed again.

Sunday morning came early once more--around 5:40, and I was OVER IT. We cleaned up around the house, played, cleaned the kitchen and I made some onion/mushroom/cheese omelettes for everyone. Keira was getting ready for her nap around 11:30, so Tyler wanted to get out of the house (and garett too--and me too, but someone had to stay with the sleeping kid lol). So they headed over to the Science and Tech Museum together, had lunch at the café, and went shopping at the gift shop. Ty bought him a motorcycle toy and a pop bottle experiment kit with a book of 79 experiments, and all the things you need to do them. So we did a few experiments as soon as they got home.

We relaxed yet again for the evening--I made a really random dinner of breaded chicken cutlets, corn and stuffing LOL. The kids were in bed REALLY early, right after their baths, so Tyler and I binged on candy in bed and watched Parenthood and the most recent episode of This is Us.
We were asleep by 10:45 after our showers.

This is apparently "Blue Monday"--the most depressing day of the year. I wouldn't say I feel depressed, but definitely tired. Keira and Garett slept in this morning until a normal time, and I would say I should have gone to bed early and taken advantage of that! oops! Hindsight is 20/20 lol

Hope everyone had a great weekend! This is a pretty busy week for us again!
Tomorrow night I am headed out with some girlfriends for dinner, since we didn't make it out last week. Wednesday Garett has swimming. Thursday, tyler has sound check around 5 and a short gig, and Saturday morning, Garett has basketball, and then Ty has a gig in Pembroke with a different band , that we are hoping to all make it out for, and I invited my cousin that lives there out :) Sunday we rest.

HAPPY MONDAY.
